Game Suggestions!?

Ha Bayonetta/dmc is a definite no. That's more in the adventure category than rpg anyways I believe. I have played fable 2 as well.

I can agree with what you're saying here dugout. At times some things they said just didn't make sense. I do praise them though for their use of words and doing something different. I also think that this type of dialogue fit into the overall design of the
game as it takes place in a dream like state.

It doesn't look like you've finished Lost Odyssey or Mass Effect 1 and they'd both be worth finishing.

Dragon Age II I would recommend as well. It's certainly not an RPG on the level of the Souls games or Witcher II, but that doesn't stop it being worth the playthrough.

If you happen to have a PS3 or be considering the purchase and you haven't played Final Fantasy 10, well... you couldn't really do much better than that. As far as your tastes go, owning a PS3 would likely do you a lot of good.

 

I gotta agree with BOB. As much as I love my 360......the PS3 has a wealth of RPG's that the 360 just doesn't have. If you're a fan of the RPG genre then the PS3, Nintendo DS and likely the PS4, is the way to go.

 

Do you mind playing older games? If so you could do worse than tracking down the Sega Genesis Ultimate Collection for the RPG games on there. Shining Force 2 being my personal favourite.

You could also go for Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, which are compatible with the 360. Though to be honest they'd be better played on the PC where they can be made to run in proper wide-screen resolutions.

unfortunately I was only borrowing lost odyssey and I think I rented mass effect. I'm not sure If I feel like going back to those since it was so long ago. I would feel like I'd have to restart completely and not sure if I'm ready for that. I can definitely
see where you guys are right about a ps3 and rpgs. I am definitely aware of this but I'm not sure if I'm ready to have another system. I was hoping there would be some hidden gems somewhere for 360 but not looking like it. I used to play a lot of ps1/ps2 back
in the day and since the 360 generation I have definitely fallen out of the rpg genre. Some of my favorite games were breath of fire 3, and ff9. Basically I want to use my xbone but there is a serious lack of good games so I am reverting to 360 in lieu of
the situation. Now I am realizing that I played the french out of my 360 and I probably covered most of the decent games. I like to add to my gamerscore and if I got a ps3 I would feel like I'm starting all over again. Pretty much the equivalent of moving
to a new city in real life. I would have to make new friends and start over from scratch. Maybe if it's cheap enough I could get one but probably just going to tough it out for now.

 

Also I have beaten ffx and I didn't really enjoy that game. Blitzball/ skill tree/ ahhh don't wan't to go back to that place ha.

If restarting games bothers you then maybe not, but you're definitely missing out. Personally, I love restarting games. Nothing quite like a fresh start. Definitely grab ther other games people have recommended if they aren't offputting... Dark Souls and
Dragon's Dogma are indisputably worth playing.

Don't think of it like that if you're playing PS3 games you can't get on 360 and hey, you don't need friends to enjoy RPGs with ; )

I love FFX's Blitzball, personally. Not so much the grind for Wakka's weapon but simply playing it is good fun.

I hear ya but in addition to that I would have to fork over a little cash as well as somehow stacking another system on top of my xbone, 360, and cable box which is crammed next to my 42 inch tv. Mostly the money though. We can definitely disagree on ffx.
I can live happily without ever playing ffx again ha.

Now there's an idea! I just watched a few videos and looks halfway decent. Not to anime ish and guns and such got me interested. I will read and do some more research on this. Guessing it's pretty cheap. thanks!

 

Magna Carta 2 was really good.Not many have heard of it so you may not find it.Also one of my favorites was Risen2ark Waters.Vandal Hearts was a pretty good turn based game but thats the only one I know of that wasnt mentioned.

[/quote]As others have mentioned, the PS3 is the best console for the genre you mentioned, there are many many games on it and most if not all can be bought brand new at very little cost.

You have the TALES OF series for hack n slash RPG, Disgaea series for Turn Based, Guided Fate Paradox is a great Roguelike game, then you have most of the Final Fantasy games, Persona games and many many more.

PS3 is an RPG, Strategy, Turn Based, JRPG, Anime based heaven, if you are serious about the genre the console is a must have!
