Game Suggestions!?

Howdy y'all,

Could you suggest a few rpg style games that you have enjoyed? I have recently finished child of light and south park tsot. I am looking mostly for a decent turn based rpg, but would be up for an adventure style or hack n slash rpg too. I am going to start
finishing up skyrim dlc while I wait to hear back. I have also played games like sacred 2, diablo 3, kuf: circle of doom, lost odyssey, dungeon siege 3, and the list goes on. I have done my research and I am aware of most mainstream titles as well as new and
upcoming releases. This post is bascially to discover something I might have missed. Also I own a 360 and xbone.

Game Suggestions

I have an opinion question for the Halo 3 community. I'm still pretty new to the Halo series and usually only play Slayer, as I really don't play video games that much. I'm looking to explore through some of the other game modes and am looking for suggestions
on which to choose. Which have the biggest community and are the easiest to pick up on. Also which ones can the most time be logged on. I have all of the DLC map packs. Thanks in advance for any replies.

 

Game suggestions

You could also look into the Fable games. And never knock playing single player games where you just pass the controller. I love playing horror survival games (like DeadSpace, for example) with my wife just passing the controller back and forth. Watching
her freak out is worth far more entertainment that playing co-op in scenario like that!!!

 

Check out "Star Ocean".

That's a pretty decent JRPG.

Oh, and "Eternal Sonata" is another great JRPG title.

If you like stomping tons of enemies "Dynasty Warriors 8" is worth a punt. It's a relaxing Hack n Slash that has great variation with the moves for the different characters.

"Skyrim", "Oblivion", "The Mass Effect Trilogy" are all "must plays".

Then of course there's "Bayonetta", the greatest game released on the XBox 360.

Thanks azrael! Is the bayonetta thing a joke ha!? I have beaten skyrim, oblivion, and ME 2 and 3 ( all obvious mainstream titles in the genre). DW is not my style and I tried eternal sonata but never got into it. I think your original suggestion of Star
Ocean is great! I will look into that and it'll probably be pretty cheap.

 

Just looked at Star Ocean and I'm not digging the gameplay/combat. Looks like FFX meets DW.

 

Have you played Kingdom of Amular: Reckoning?

 

If you can find them Blue Dragon and Enchanted Arms are OK.

 

KoA and Dragon Age are 2 good choices. I picked up Bound by Flame but haven't tried it out yet.

Can't think of any turn based RPG's that you didn't already list. Child of Light was so damn good it's a wonder their aren't more 15-20 hour long little RPG's in the Arcade. For $10-15 they'd sell like hotcakes. Ehhh....but what do I know.

 

^^Agreed. I started playing COL and was impressed from the start. Hopefully some of the indie developers are making some RPGs.

 

The only thing I didn't like about COL was the nursery rhyme storytelling. Made the story way more convoluted than it needed to be. Other than that......wonderful game.

 

Oh wow, "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" is a must play.

And "Bayonetta" is the greatest game released on the Xbox 360.

Perfect 10's from "Famitsu" magazine in the East and "Edge" magazine in the West.

Play the game on Normal though (easy performs auto combos and you'll never really understand what you're doing because the game is doing it for you).

 

Devil may cry was a bit better than Bayonetta IMHO.

FF 13/2 or Lightning returnes

Blu Dragon and Tales of Vesperia have already been mentioned but, deserve a second glance (also IMO)

Thanks guys! From what I am hearing I will look into kingdom of alamur reckoning. I watched a quick video and it looks kind of like diablo meets skyrim but I will do some more research on it. Dragon age 2 could be good too (I played the first one ). Some
of the jrpgs listed look okay but personally I'm not into the super asian style animation in a lot of them (tales of vesperia, and blue dragon). I find it kind of cheesy/corny. Enchanted arms is a tactical rpg as well and not my style. Basically it's just
going to be difficult finding something after playing child of light and it sounds like a lot of you can agree with that.
