Game stuck in disk drive of original xbox.

Sorry i meant to say it only gets stuck when there is no game in the disk drive.

I have 2 Xboxes, one I purchased and the other was a gift to my son from his uncle. The gifted Xbox stopped powering on, and the disk drive in the one I purchased started going bad (very loud, not reading some games, getting stuck). Neither was under warranty.

I replaced the disk drive that was going bad with the drive from the one that wouldn't power up and it worked beautifully for a few days. Today, after not using it for a while, I discovered that no games would load from disk. I can play any downloaded
games (not any installed from disk), and access all other features. Xbox support told me that the newest system update flagged the drive as 'modified' and disabled it. I made no 'modifications', and in no way altered the machine to access pirated, copied,
or otherwise illegal content.

To be clear, I successfully repaired a machine that I own, with equipment from another xbox that I own (both original Xbox 360 pro, both legally purchased), and now I cannot enjoy playing games that I own (legally purchased, original, licensed disks), because
Microsoft disabled my disk drive through a MANDATORY system update.

How do you rationalize breaking my equipment in such a way that I cannot use it to play content that I purchased?

Thanks for coming to the forums. Have you tried installing the disk to the hard drive itself? There has been an issue with original Xbox games on disk not playing or installing. Also try powering off the console, remove the Hard drive power on the console.
Then power off again and insert hard drive again then turn on again. Also would leave the USB drive out, this will force it to save on the internal. Also, is the internal an original Xbox hard drive, if they are third party the game will not work.

The Eject button is on the front of the original Xbox One console right next to the disk drive, while the Bind button is on the left side, directly adjacent to the disk drive, with a symbol that looks like “)))” on it.

If the next xbox uses blu ray disks there will be no more need for disk changing. When the original xbox 360 launched the battle between HD DVD and Blu Ray was still going on. When HD DVD lost, Xbox discontinued that disk drive.

As for the noise, if you install the disk to the hard drive there is no noise.
