Game Streaming Xbox One S to Windows 10 - Can't connect, can't find console

This worked on my Xbox One before the software update - I've not changed anything.

Creating new post as no-one has said this specifically.

Upgraded to Xbox One S. Very happy, everything seems to be working fine, save games coming through automatically etc - only Game Streaming to Windows 10 is not working as it can't find the console on the network. The troubleshooting on the website has not
been updated for the new software.

I've tried all the obvious (turned it off and on, checked all the settings and there is nothing obvious, wired and wifi connected etc)

Please fix this. It blew up my old laptop which couldn't take the Windows 10 upgrade. Don't make my new laptop purchase for nothing!

    :)

Cannot get game streaming working. Any ideas? Details in post.

Hello. I am trying to stream my Xbox to my windows 10 pc. I understand this is still in testing but if it doesn't work with a 1gbps link, I can't see it being very viable. I have the correct update for the Xbox One, and I am running build 10159 of Windows
    10. My pc connects to my Xbox immediately and shows the "Now Playing" perfectly. When I click Test Streaming, it cannot connect and tells me to hard wire both devices. Both are connected to a 1gbps router and both have a Cat6 cable. I can't see it being any
more ideal for game streaming. Any ideas of what could be going wrong here? I can't seem to find the problem. And yes I power cycled both devices numerous times. My Xbox WILL say my pc is connected and streaming, but the pc says it could not connect. Thanks.

Game Streaming Xbox One S to Windows 10 - Can't connect, can't find console

Do you know the IP address of you Xbox One?

    This should help find it.

    support.xbox.com/.../network-settings

Next do you know the IP address of your PC?

First step will be to try connecting to the XB1 via its IP address. If that doesn't work then we can look at some more potential solutions.

I've had the same. Streaming was working great until I updated my Surface and xbox one to the new updates.

I need to do some more troubleshooting with wired etc but certain it's one of the updates because nothing else changed.

I should have done one at a time! I'll try a non updated windows machine later to see if that helps

After quite a bit of troubleshooting, in my case, it was the Windows 10 anniversary update. I've rolled back to the build before and now all ok again.

Think I'll hold off upgrading for a bit!

  8. Game Streaming Xbox One S to Windows 10 - Can't connect, can't find console

I was streaming on wednesday. Everthing worked great. Now after the windows and xbox update, it is horrible. I can only stream for like 2 minutes max. When I run a test it says it can't connect, even though it is connected. I have tried tech support and
they don't have a clue. It isn't my connection. I have tested it many times.... They need fx this problem. Tried uninstalling wiindows update.... didn't do anything. Any help? I also uninstalled xbox app and reinstalled. No luck.

im lucky to have many devices to try with this, so ive done plenty of troubleshooting now. different types of pc, running different builds of Windows with different wifi setups. All with issues.

The only constant is the xbox running the update and I cant roll that back. I wish I had one without it so that I cant swap over for proof.

Everything was running great until the update and was my main way of playing games

I am having the same issue. I have tried the recommended solutions:

    - Make sure Windows, Xbox, and Xbox App are fully updated (yes).

    - Restart the PC, Xbox One, and Router (no effect).

    - Uninstall/Reinstall Xbox App on Windows 10 via PowerShell (no effect).

I have not yet done a reset on the Xbox because I'd really like to keep all my saved games (especially Fallout 4).

Running the Streaming Test fails (could not connect to console) but the console's audio can be heard through the PC speakers during the test, so it is, in fact, connecting to some degree.

I can start streaming through the app, but it only lasts for a couple of minutes before sudden disconnect. Each time I reconnect, the streaming duration gets shorter and shorter.

On the connection menu, the "Turn On" button does nothing and the Xbox doesn't turn on. The "Turn On" feature did work from my iPhone Xbox app one time. After that, the app says that it connects, but the console isn't even turned on.

I have submitted this information through the Xbox (Beta) app, so hopefully they'll get this fixed soon. I use the streaming feature more than playing directly on the console/TV, so this is a pretty big inconvenience.

I've gone mad trying to make sure it is not a problem on my end. I used to stream to my computer all the time, sometimes for hours on very high quality, and it worked just fine.

About a month to two months ago I would be network quality problems popping up every few minutes, so I dropped the quality. Then I would get random disconnects. For the last few weeks, the app can't find my Xbox. I connected them to the same 2.4GHz bands,
same 5GHz bands, connected both to my router, connected both directly into my modem (Xfinity Modem), tried other peoples routers and modems, and searched for the Xbox's IP address within the app.

I am at the point now where I am fairly confident that the issue is within the Xbox app on Windows 10.

Just updated my xbox app on windows 10 the other day. Still having issues. Stream would work fine for several minutes and then lose connection. After the first loss of connection it won't last for more than 2 minutes before losing it again. Been having
    issues since the summer update.

Im trying to cast my xbox one to my lenovo laptop using hdmi but i cant find it where do i see my connections

Hello Assassin the hdmi on your laptop is an output therefore you can't connect connect using hdmi. However you can connect wirelessly and stream your xbox one to your Lenovo laptop to do that follow these steps:

How to start game streaming from your Xbox One to your Windows 10 PC

Enable settings on your Xbox One

To use Xbox game streaming, you must first enable game streaming from your Xbox One. To do this, press the Xbox button to open the guide, select System > Settings > Preferences > Xbox app connectivity. Do these two things:

Under This Xbox, select Allow game streaming to other devices.

Under Other devices, select Allow connections from any device or Only from profiles signed in on this Xbox.

Connect your Windows 10 PC to your Xbox One

After ensuring that your console settings are correct, you need to establish a connection from your Windows 10 PC to your Xbox One console from within the Xbox Console Companion app on your PC:

On your PC, launch the Xbox Console Companion app.

Select Connection from the panel on the left side.

The Xbox Console Companion app will scan your home network for available Xbox One consoles. Select the name of the console you want to connect to.

The ‘Connect to Your Xbox One’ window is shown with the name of the console that’s connected.

Note All Xbox One consoles are pre-named "MyXboxOne." If you have multiple consoles, you should rename each one so that you can correctly identify the console you're trying to connect to. You can rename your console by pressing the Xbox button to open the
guide, selecting System > Console info > Console info, and then selecting the name of your console in the Name box.

Once you have connected, you'll see the icons change to indicate you are connected, and you'll see new options for streaming, power, and media remotes. You'll also now have control of the console remotely.

The ‘Connect to Your Xbox One’ window is shown with the console’s current screen displayed.

How to launch game streaming from the Connection panel

To begin streaming, click Stream once the console is connected.

Hope it helps let us know

xbox anywhare can i use windows 7 pro

The Xbox app on windows 10 allows you to stream your Xbox to your Windows 10 PC to play on a local internet connection (LAN) with it.

    Info on game streaming here:
    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/game-setup/how-to-use-game-streaming

It is not possible to play xbox 360 games on an android phone or Windows 7 professional. You can't even play them on Windows 10. You CAN play them via streaming to your xbox one that is playing the xbox 360 game and play on your Windows 10 PC though.

The Xbox Live app on your phone is for messages, videos, possibly parties and redeeming codes. That's all that it can do.
