    Game streaming preview app won't find XBox


    • I am in insider program
    • I have the Omega build that supports console streaming
    • I opened console streaming app, logged in, and pressed button to set up Xbox
    • my Xbox opened a page to run streaming tests as a result of my actions in the app
    • I ran console streaming test. All checks were green except three, which were yellow. Upload less than 9Mbps, latency > 60ms, controller firmware some buttons may not work right until next update. No checks were red.
    • I pressed the button to enable console streaming
    • I got a page saying the console is ready to stream, and it told me to get app and use same controller, blah blah. I pressed the close button on that page.
    • I paired controller with my phone (Pixel 3) and confirmed it worked (could navigate around on phone using controller)
    • I opened app again and just got the screen with the green "Setup new XBox" button.
    • Tried "pulling down" to refresh screen, no change.
    • Tried pressing the "Setup new XBox" button and it just stays on the page saying "looking for console..." and press enable on your console to get started. My console doesn't react, I assume because it is already enabled for streaming.
    • I have tried disabling streaming on my console and I have repeated all previous steps above 5+ times over 3 days and have gotten the exact same behavior every time.

    Anyone have any ideas? I would love to test out console streaming.

    Other info:

    • I have an Xbox One X and an Xbox One
    • Xbox One X is the one with Insider Hub and the one with the Omega build.
    • Xbox One is not enabled for insider
    • All my testing was against Xbox One X

    Edit: have tried with phone on wireless (connected to same router that XBox One X is wired to) and on 4G with same result.

    Streaming on Xbox

    Hi ClaimingDuke263,

    Have you been accepted onto the Xbox Console Streaming (Preview) program? This should be found in the Insider Content section of the Xbox Insider
    Hub app. I have quoted the below from the Xbox Console Streaming (Preview) program FAQ found at the bottom of the page.

    “To participate in the Console Streaming (Preview), download the “Insider Hub” app to your Xbox One console. Then, download the “Xbox Game Streaming (Preview)” app on your Android device. Follow the steps in the app on your mobile device to pair your
    console and phone. Then, start playing the games you already own! Please note, the initial roll out to Insiders will be phased. For the most up to date details on which Insider rings have access to the Preview, please visit insider.xbox.com.”

    Are you game streaming if so are you part of the new xbox streaming preview app... the app is still making improvements I play on my phone using the preview app which was a privilege to be accepted by Microsoft... if you are streaming and playing then
    trust me you see the difference when the app comes out

    I recently just got into streaming my Xbox One through my Xbox app, and it's pretty rad. There's an all-encompassing guide for streaming your Xbox One to your Windows 10 PC through the Xbox App here:

    Unfortunately you won't be able to do what you're hoping to do with streaming, though. (You can find that info in the section "System Requirements.") Much like the Smartglass app, the Xbox app can only connect to an Xbox One that is on the same network as
    it. Being a full state away would certainly inhibit that.

    In what way do you mean?

    Watch a stream while playing a game or stream the PC game you are playing?

    If it's stream the game you are playing, no it's not possible. You can only use the Twitch app on the Xbox to stream Xbox console games.

    To watch a stream on the console, it's easy, just launch the app, then log in, and find a stream you want to watch, then start a game on your PC.

    Oh, I got you. You're talking about the game streaming not livestreaming correct? If that's the case, I believe you have to be invited to test/use the game streaming app. Game streaming is still in preview, all relevant information about game streaming can
