    Game Streaming: Can you do anything else on your Xbox One while streaming?


    Here's my setup: I've got my Xbox One hardwired to my modem, and I'm taking full advantage of running my cable TV through my console so I can use the voice commands with Kinect. Essentially, my entire living room entertainment experience hinges on my Xbox
    One.

    With game streaming now being a thing, I tried it out tonight with Fallout 4. The only thing is it obviously started playing on the Xbox One and essentially just mirrored my television screen to my Surface Pro 3. It's great that I could play Fallout 4 on
    my Surface, but not great for anyone else in my living room who maybe didn't feel like watching me play a game.

    My question is, is there any way to stream a game to my Surface, but have the ability to watch TV or movies or Netflix or something on the television screen while I'm rocking a video game on my Surface? Otherwise, to me, game streaming seems kind of useless
    without having my cable TV running through a separate input on my TV, totally negating the TV functionality of the Xbox One.

    Any settings I'm missing? Or is this just how it is?

    Will Titanfall be available for download at 12 midnight on the 11th?

    the trick to fast downloads is not to do anything on the xbox one while its d/l ... the system won't max you download speed so its also good not to be streaming or down other things on your network. My downloads have all been pretty quick.

    Why are you wanting to stream your xbox to the laptop?

    Are you running anything else on the laptop whilst trying to stream?

    In what way do you mean?

    Watch a stream while playing a game or stream the PC game you are playing?

    If it's stream the game you are playing, no it's not possible. You can only use the Twitch app on the Xbox to stream Xbox console games.

    To watch a stream on the console, it's easy, just launch the app, then log in, and find a stream you want to watch, then start a game on your PC.
