Game still reading from CD after installed to HDD.

After i install any game from CD, it still runs from the CD rom while playing. Is this normal? the 360 would just spin up when you first lunched the game, then never use it again.

Console not reading game install...

My 360 is not reading a game install. I was trying to play Tekken Tag 2 which is installed my HDD, but the 360 is spinning up and reading from the disc instead. And also, why can't I rip a certain CD to my Hard Drive, all the tracks come up with the little

I thought the games had to be installed to HDD because the read speeds from HDD are quicker than from blu-ray?

Mine does it. I think it's normal although I don't know why as the entire game is on the HDD.

Maybe it has to keep reading the disc to verify ownership?

The game disc on the Xbox 360 still reads every now and then even if the game is installed in the HDD, you just didn't notice the times that it was doing so

Games are written to run from disc. Installing the games to HDD does not change this. The games still behave as if they're running from optical media, not HDD. Read error on the HDD? You get a disc read error in-game. If they cache to the 360 HDD, when installed
to HDD they then thrash the HDD as they try to cache from a HDD image to the cache area on the HDD (big problem for Halo 3).

For better or for worse, I would not expect anything to change this generation.

I just picked up a copy and yes. it seems to still be reading off of the DVD and not the HDD after install of game.

The reason we suggest installing the game to the Hard Drive is to save wear and tear on the CD tray itself. If the issue is with the CD tray installing the game is your best bet. When the game is installed, it's true that the game must be in the console
but that is just so the console can do an initial read to ensure it's the proper game. After that the entire game is read from the Hard Drive prolonging the life of the reader.
