    Game Sound Issues with Xbox1


    Hello,

    I’m experiencing issues with hearing game sound through my new Astro A50 (Gen4) headphones on my Xbox 1X. My Astro A50 head phones have had the firmware update completed and I’ve set the sound settings per Astro requirements to HDMI -> stereo compressed,
    optical audio -> bitstream out, bitstream format -> Dolby Digital, headset format -> stereo uncompressed. I’ve also put chat mixer on “do nothing”. I’ve rechecked the optical cord (In) and usb to make sure they’re both plugged into the base station and to
    the xbox. I’m only hearing voice chat through my headphones.

    Theres been a ton of issues with xbox’s party chat not connecting to a party of players because of voice party settings NAT type which requires Open. Any help and or advice is welcome! Theres so many issues right know with xbox regarding chat and game sounds
    I’m reading about online and none of them are helping.

    Hello Justin,

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Have you been able to test a different headset to see if the issue persists? If the Xbox settings or the operating system are causing this, then it can be fixed with a soft factory reset. This will reset the
    operating system and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. You will have to re-sign into your account, so make sure you know the email and password before performing this step. This
    will also reset the home Xbox settings.

    You can follow
    the steps on this link     for "resetting and keeping my games and apps" if you would like to try out the soft reset.

    It sounds like your TV black levels aren't adjusted. But it's odd that only the Xbox1 is having the issue. Being plasma, is it a 720 or 1080 display?
