Game sound/chat works, Xbox One doesn't?

Curious if anyone has had this issue...my headphones/mic work within a game using that game's group chat, but my party chat through Xbox One doesnt work. Also, my games output their sound to the TV, but the Xbox home menu does not. For example, the notification
chimes for joining parties, getting achievements, and even the menu click when changing items are all gone, but in game sounds are fine. So I can hear a game fine, and within a game I can chat in group, but regular party chat doesnt work, either direction.

I havent resorted to a system reset, though that is still an option as it seems to be a software issue and not hardware. I've restarted my controller, Xbox, plugged, unplugged, muted, unmuted, etc. System settings haven't changed, no updates downloaded
recently, no new games downloaded...nothing I can think of. Last resort is a system wipe and reinstall, though I'm hoping to avoid the hassle, so checking with the experts first.

    Any thoughts?

    :)

  3. setting up Razer chimaera 5.1 headset on Xbox One

    Hi!

I have stereo headset from Razer company, model chimaera 5.1. This is wireless headset for Xbox360.

After bying Xbox One, and bying microsoft headset adapter (official) for xbox one, this headset start working with chat. But buttons on headset adapter not work correctly. Not matter what i'm doing, changing volume of chat or game, in my headset changes
all volume. If dont use this buttons, game sounds are so loud that i cant hear chat(((

And buttons on headset dont work correctly (there are butons on headset for
regulation chat and game volumes). There is the same thing. Like sound getting in with one stream.

Is there any opportunity to make the headphones work properly with Xbox One?

Game sound/chat works, Xbox One doesn't?

    Hey,

Is the issue just when you just have headphones on all for normal speakers as well?

In the settings menu under Display & sound - Volume. Check what party chat output is set to.

Also in audio output double check the settings there.

Windows Xbox app in game chat

    Hey

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately any form of Xbox party is no good as we play with friends using ps4 hence the in game chat works great but the app doesn't seem to pick up in game chat only the game sounds.

I get if your in a party it overrides the in game chat but even when no party lobby is active it still doesn't come through yet works as it should via the headset so I know the sound is there

Its very odd! I can only assume maybe the in game chat is blocked by the app somehow although I'm hoping not :)

    sound doesn't work xbox one

    Hello Sharon,

Thanks for coming to the forums. When you talk about sound it doesn't work on the console completely? Or does it only work while on home screen but not in game? Can you provide a little more information. You can try a different HDMI cable, or HDMI port on
    the TV.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Brad

Anyone got a Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 500X headset?

CONFIRMED. It's Friday evening for NZ and Australia, I'm on Xbox 360, and the Turtle Beach 500x WORKS ON XBOX 360. Game sound wireless but for chat, you need a chat cable (I'm using the one which I have for my turtle beach x42). Sound and bass is deep. I
have yet to try it on Xbox One. Chat works on Xbox 360 too! I'm chatting with friends in a party on 360.

Here's a fun fact to share. Thanks for reading.
