Are you holding your controller in view of the Kinect when you switch it on?

Whenever its happened to me ive switched on the controller where the Kinect can't see me.

Sorry to hear it. Can you try power cycling the console by holding the power button for 10 seconds until it shuts down?

Privacy and online safety settings on the parent account and let us know how it goes!

I've suffered a similar issue with NBA 2K14.

If anybody else is signed in on my Xbox, it almost always screws up. For instance, if my wife and I are both signed in (because we'd been watching TV or something), I'll pick up the controller and turn it on. I'll say Xbox Go Home and get my home screen.
I'll launch NBA 2K14, either from my home screen, or clearly using my voice, while holding the controller, which is directly in front of the Kinect, unobstructed. And when the game boots up it will try and have me create a 2K account to start playing (even
though I already have one), because it thinks my wife is trying to play.

I'll quit the game, turn the controller on and off, make sure I'm signed in to my profile, go to Kinect settings and make sure that Kinect is recognizing who I am, relaunch the game, and get the exact same problem. The only solution I've found is to sign
my wife out, and launch the game with only my profile signed in.

It doesn't happen every time, but it happens enough to be completely annoying.

It's a wireless connection, but because my room is upstairs and the modem is downstairs, we don't have a cable long enough to reach my xbox.

Also even after resetting my modem as well as deleting the cache folder, it still won't let me.
