game sharing with a friend

Hi Gamers

A friend and I recently took advantage of Microsoft game sharing feature where we sign in on each others xboxes and set it to home Xbox. This feature works perfectly as we are now able to play each others games with no issues, but the issue we are having
is the games with gold thats available every month from Microsoft, we cant claim.

It keeps giving us a error saying the games are not available in our region, I am based in South Africa and my friend is based in USA. Has anyone else had a issue like this or know how we can solve it? we both have active live subscriptions.

The Home setting on the One allows you to share games/gold with any other account on that console - My Home Xbox Setting on Xbox One | Share Your Xbox One The Home setting is recommended to be used on your own console so you can share games with
your household, but technically you could set any console you want as your Home.

Hi all, I have a question for anyone able to answer it.

As the title suggests, my question is: Can i share a game with a friend?

First of all, is this even legal? It sounds a little fishy if you ask me, but I read on the internet on numerous sites that it is possible.

If so, how is this achievable? I am a bit of a layman in everything with a shred of technology.

As illustration for my problem, I am very hyped for FIFA 19, and I have been a fan of the series since FIFA 06 (I think).

I want to download the FIFA 19 game directly when it comes out, and I am planning to download the Champions Edition (which is essentially early acces and some other nifty bonusses in-game). If it were possible to share the game, I understand that not both
players can enjoy these 'extras', but that is not really the problem. In this case, as I understand, it should (theoretically) be possible to share this game with a mate. Now arises the question if we could simultaneously play the game (when the full game
is released!,1 account with bonusses and the other not) with 1 game.

I hope I am first of all in the right section asking this question, and I hope I formulated it correctly.

Hi

Only the account that had the gold subscription can claim the free games with gold titles. They will be the ones available in their region.

 

But we both have our own live subscription. My subscription expires after his though.

 

Is it saying the same for both of you? Or just one of you? Some games are not available in all regions esp gold games can differ per region.

 

I claimed this months games with no problems, but he cant claim any games at the moment.

 

Contacting official support might be another way if you are still unsure about the game sharing feature.

 

Contact support, or try to sign out from console and sign in and try it. Or try to disable the sharing and after claiming, enable it again.

 

Will try that tonight.

Xbox support is the next step if we don't come right.

 

He is in the US? He is trying to claim his games via his console?

Has he tried claiming them via xbox.com, though should also work.

 

Yes he lives in the US, and he is trying to claim the games via his concole. I dont know if he has tried claiming them via xbox.com

 

I assume his console region is also correct and isn't getting confused as being in South Africa as it is the Home Xbox of your account.

Get him to try xbox.com and see if that works for him.
