    Game sharing problems


    i'm having trouble game sharing with a friend of mine. Every time we get through the game sharing process its fine the day that we do it but within a day or two it lets me play his games but it wont let him play mine. and then we try the game sharing process
    again and it says " Can't make this your home Xbox, you can have one home Xbox at a time, and switch between consoles up to three times a year. we only did it once. please help us.

    Anything you buy on your account can be downloaded and played on any console as long as you're signed into Live.

    You can only switch home consoles 3 times every 12 months,not 3 times per year.

    The home console feature is meant for households with more than one console,not to share with your friends.

    What's your point? There's no restriction on which console players are allowed to set as the Home Xbox, so regardless of what the feature was originally meant for, the OP isn't doing anything wrong.

    Hi there,

    regarding the Home console setting, if you have reached the limit of changes then you will have to contact official Xbox Support (by Phone) they are the only ones that can determine if you are eligible for a reset.

    But keep in mind that in a normal situation you don't need that many times to change the Home console. Like mentioned the intended use is to set your own primary console as your Home console.

    As a side note keep in mind that Sharing account credentials and Transferring licenses to your console from an account that you didn’t create are both things that violate the the Code of Conduct and could result in your account getting a suspension. See

    How so? Care to elaborate?

    *Never mind, I re-read OP's post and he's trying to circumvent the amount of times you can switch the Home Xbox designation. If that's what you're referring to, then I agree wholeheartedly.

    I'm sorry to see any issues downloading a game! I'm wondering if the purchase didn't go through properly. If your friend is relative to your location, are they able to log into their account and find out if they can download it themselves? Let me know how

    There can be violations of the Terms of Service in how some people implement, but setting a console, regardless of location, as Home Console itself does not violate the terms. If you give someone else your account credentials to log in and set
    it, then yes. Is it against the spirit of the setting? Sure. Is it against the letter of the setting? Not necessarily.

    the home console feature is designed for family. Sharing games with your friends because you dont want to buy games isnt allowed.
