Game sharing on Xbox One within families.

I have 4 children and 3 Xbox One consoles.

I am getting so mad now regarding shared access to download games!!!

I stopped buying discs a while ago to save money, the kids were smaller and had a bad habit of breaking them.

Now I'm totally infuriated that we can only play my downloaded games on the "Home" Xbox. Its utterly ridiculous and unfair Microsoft, please fix it!

Why should I buy 3 copies of every game we all want to play? If we had a disc we could easily move it between consoles when anyone wanted to play the game...

We are all set up as a family and we are all operating on the same network.

Please, please Microsoft; I've invested a lot of my money in your hardware so the least you could do is allow us all to play the same games without having to buy several copies!

Maybe a small extra fee for additional licences at the time of purchase might be acceptable?

Game sharing with 'friends' is not something you can expect main support will help you with. Sharing is supposed to be for within households/families. Not with mates so you can avoid paying for games.

There are plenty of places online where you can find further info - bear in mind if you mess up your home xbox settings trying to share games Xbox support will NOT be able to fix it!

 

Content sharing problems

On my families old Xbox 360, my brother and I could play games that either of us downloaded without the other being signed in. When we got our new one, we transfered data from our old one to the new one, but the content sharing feature no longer works on
the new console. Is there any way to reactivate the sharing feature?

 

Hi, actually anyone can play your games on the home Xbox, but if you log in on another Xbox, you can then play your games on that other console too. So you really only have to purchase 2 copies of games, not 3.
