    Game sharing, anyone?

Hi, I'm at 21year old guy from the NW looking for some1 to share libraries with since none of my friends have Xb1 don't have many friends either tbh, lol

The digital games that I have are:

    •Tomb Raider

    •Forza

    •Peggle

•AC4 - Season pass along with that

•I can buy another game I guess if my lineup doesn't warrant any1 wanting to share with me

I really don't wanna share with any1 who has unwanted games by me, or any1 who I see as dodgy

Also a friend buddy to play some live with wouldn't go amiss Game sharing, anyone? :)

Message here or at Skype, since I know how friendly this community is -

    cheers

    Game sharing, anyone?

Not sure how you're planning on doing this.

If you're referring to the family sharing that was first announced alongside the console, you should be made aware that this was scrapped when there was outcry over DRM.

If you're trying to do this by exchanging details and switching 'Home' consoles, you should be aware that this would be against the Xbox Live Terms of Use. And also exchanging passwords and login information with unknown parties is just, generally, a terrible
idea from a security viewpoint and highly unlikely to end well.

But as for playing online, there are a bunch of people here who play regularly and most are cool so you'd almost certainly find someone here you get along with and with whom you have a great time. Game sharing, anyone? :)

Wasn't aware this was against terms and conditions..

If it's available and able to be done, why would that be so?

In the text of the Terms of Use, it's considered marketplace theft, just like licence transferring each other's games was on Xbox 360.

As for why it's there. It's useful for a family, or any scenario where there are multiple users on the same console. For instance, take my console. Even when I'm not logged in, someone else can log in on their profile and play my games, all because it's
    my Home console.

The fact that it's open to exploitation and sharing digital game libraries with someone else is... well, a side-effect of how it works. And it's surely going to be exploited by some, no doubt. But really you shouldn't. You certainly should not be advertising
    the practice on a forum.

  7. Hey there WingsOfHalo Game sharing, anyone? :)

Maxen speaks the truth. This would be considered marketplace theft if that is what you are implying in your opening post? Either way, please do not advertise this sort of practice if that is the intention. I have removed the Skype address from your post
as its against the rules to advertise your social media. You are more than free to post it in your forum signature as well as any other links to other channels.

The community here is fantastic and not to be bias, but I have a fondness of these specific sections! Welcome to the forums, I have no doubt you will make good friends in some of these peeps.

If somebody is using the "Family" option and playing games from thier "Home XBox" on another console can the game still be played on the "Home XBox".

I'm interested in how this works as I did think about doing it with my son if I buy him XBox One for his birthday.

  9. Thanks CloudStrife 900.

Did not answer my question but good to see how it works. What I wanted to know was if I am playing my Digital copy of COD would my son be able to play it at the same time on another console if he still has my console as his home one. His Xbox will be in
next room but I am really fed up paying out twice for games but more so for DLC (Which I have stopped buying after Halo 4 debarcle)

^^i'm sure I've read a thread on these forums that it does work that way FitsHisFace , someone was playing Plants vs Zombies co-op with their son after only purchasing the game once .

The guy had his console as "Home" , downloaded his profile to his sons console and purchased/downloaded the game there , when he logged back on on his "home" console it downloaded the game to that also , so they could both play simultaneously .

  11. You're welcome Fits Game sharing, anyone? :)

To be totally honest with you I don't have that much experience with the sharing and exactly how it works past what is on the above page lol. I'm not too privy to it having not used it myself before.

A really good article/explanation of how the game sharing works is here -
    winsupersite.com/.../xbox-one-game-sharing

Apologies if that link is not allowed, however I believe it just outlines how it all works rather than anything untoward...

Feel free to remove if necessary Game sharing, anyone? :)

  13. Very interesting reading this as me and my son both have xboxones.

The only game I've got digitally is trails fusion so will try this on my sons xbox to see if this works.

Hopefully this will save us money because we both have 7 disc copies of the same game at the moment, It would be nice to pay for one game and both of us play online at the same time.

  14. Its cool Lout Game sharing, anyone? :) I have only skimmed it but at glance it looks okay. I will give it a proper going over tonight just to be safe so I don't get mauled for it down the lines lol.

As for the disc games, I agree it would be nice to just have to buy one game. I have 2 X1's in the house hold and would love to play TF with the lady but the barrier just wont allow it. Wouldn't be so bad if I took the disc out of my console and the X1 said
"you have an hour to put the disc back in" so that I could swap the disc between consoles to enjoy some competition with the wife. Maybe one day eh!
