Game shareing

So i game was planning on game shareing with my friend and so he said that he need to wait until 10/22/18 and so obviously he did and when i went to set his account and my home Xbox on my xbox it said to wait until 3/5/19 tell me how that works

So about two months back I went over to my buddy's house for xbox game trading and I stayed over for a few days and he knew I had Ark Survival Evolved but It was digital not disk and he wanted to have access to it via Game Sharing,
I told him "No I'm letting Dalton(other buddy ive know since 2nd grade) have it for when WWII comes out." he acknowledged my honesty and all that and about a month latter went ahead and used my last game share without asking. Now I'm me and my friend are screwed
because hes tight on money and cant buy WWII and I dont want my other friend to game share with me.

No one in the forums can assist with resetting a user's home console count.

Now that the count has been increased from 3 to 5 times in a one year (365 day) period there is no guarantee that phone support will reset it. If you want to see if they will you can go

Keep in mind, game sharing with the intent to avoid purchasing games/content is against the code of conduct, just as accessing a user's account without their permission is.

Be sure to change the password on your account and don't have any console not in your possession remember your account password to help avoid unauthorized access in the future..

 

You can change which console is your home Xbox up to five times during a one-year period. This period works on a rolling basis, starting the moment you change your home Xbox for the first time. If you reach your limit of home console
changes for the year, you’ll get a message letting you know the next available date you can change it.

When you change home consoles, all device licenses for digital content will move to your new home Xbox. These device licenses will no longer be available on your old "home" Xbox.

 

Just so I understand you correctly.

1. You and your friend were trying to game share.

2. Your friend signed into your account on his console to set his console as your profiles home console it gave him the message that it could not be done till 10/22/18. Is this correct?

3. You then signed into your friends profile on your console and went to set YOUR console as your friends home console and it said that you had to wait till 03/05/2019. Is this correct?

Am I getting it right so far? IF so let me explain a few things.

Each Profile can have ONE console at a time set as their home console and ANY other profile on that console will then be able to play that profiles digital games and use any subscription that they have.

Each profile can switch which console is set as their HOME console FIVE times a year. Once that FIVE times is up You can not switch which console is your HOME console till it comes up to ONE year from the date that you set the FIRST console as your home
console.

So if what I said above is correct When your friend signed into your profile on his console and went to set his console as your profiles home console your FIVE times for the year had already been hit and you would get another switch on 10/22/18

Now your friend has apparently already hit his FIVE times also for his account and will not get another switch till 03/05/19

Oh and just a heads up It is actually against the code of conduct to give your information to someone else.

It says nothing against you signing into another console and making it your home console it just says and this is a direct copy from the code of conduct

• Scream at, intimidate, or bully others
• Violate another person’s privacy (e.g., share someone’s personal information like home address)
• Fail to protect your account, devices, and personal information (e.g., lend your credentials, post your private information publicly, fail to supervise your devices)

I suggest You to call Xbox Support, you may have a chance to change it

 

It's worth bearing in mind that game share is only allowed within the same household and us designed for multi console families. It's against code of conduct to game share outside the house. So if anything goes wrong support maybe be lacking.
