Game Share via Home Console not working with purchased game

Hi, I have Series X that my son and i use with 2 different accounts Home Console is set and we can both play games. However i recently purchased the Police Simulator game which we did while logged in on my sons account and proceeded to download and install the game. He can play th egame no problem but when we log out of his account and i log in and try play the game i get an error message that the person that bought the game needs to login and redirected to the Microsoft store but cant launch the game, asks me to buy it again .. I can not game share this purchased game.. Please help.

Thanks for the suggestions, i believe that the main issue was that my son's account was not set to Home Xbox and that is the reason i could not play the game. All working now so thanks again for the help.

In the meantime please try this:

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, disable Home Xbox for your son’s account and enable it again

Purchase history is tied to the account that made the purchase, not the console. However, games can be shared on a console via the Home setting which is how a game could show up under an account that did not purchase it.

Correct. As you've mentioned that the game purchase or subscription is on the other account that is the only account that the game will work on for PC. If you had an Xbox console you would be able to share the subscription via the Home setting. When shared on console any gamertag or account can access the features without issue.

on the Xbox One an account can share his digital purchased games and subscriptions via the Home console setting on the primary console, which will allow other accounts on that console to those items (Like Xbox Live Gold).

If this is on the Xbox 360, then I'm afraid each account will require their own Xbox Live Gold subscription

I like to add that a child account that is part of a family will Not automatically have access to subscriptions and games owned by a parent account. These items can only be shared via the Home console setting on the Xbox One console.
