Unfortunately, some people find this type of behavior to be acceptable, so you may encounter some nastiness when playing online against other people. I remember Microsoft used to have an option for picking if you are a Casual gamer or a Hardcore gamer and
the Casual category would try to match you against other Casual players, which helped but you can't control how other people behave on the platform.

As the others have mentioned, if the nastiness goes beyond general banter about gameplay and becomes more personal or threatening or abusive, then you might want to block and report them.

It really depends on the situation. I've had crappy scores in the past and been sent messages from people calling me a baby or a newb. It happens but is not a reportable offence.
