    Game Saves Gone ?!?


    Just this morning I found out that my hard drive for my Xbox 360 slim was faulty and I couldn't get it to work because it "had to be formatted" or something. Before I did this I tried getting data off of it but it wouldn't let me because once again it wasn't
    formatted. So I figured that most of my game saves should follow my Gamertag and went ahead and formatted my hard drive. Now after I did that I installed and started playing GTA 5 only to realise I've lost every single game save I've ever had. Obviously downloading
    everything again is an issue but not as big as losing game saves.

    I have one question, why the *** is it possible for my hard drive to become faulty in such a way that I lose 100's of hours worth of game saves? I honestly feel like I've wasted my time and been cheated by a *** product and frankly I wish I would've went
    with a Playstation, at least then I could rely on it to keep my saves.

    Game Save GONE...Vanished!!!

    The "saved game disappearing" problem is more prevalent in Arkham City, but I have never heard of it happening in Arkham Asylum.

    In any case, if I were you, I wouldn't see this as a bad thing, but instead, as an opportunity to play a fun game again. Next time around, save your game to the cloud so that if something does happen, you'll have a backup save file.

    I did this in Arkham City after many people were complaining about lost save files.

    tombraider save games gone??

    just done it to get the 100%, been playing it from that save point, turned on today, clicked continue and it started me back from the beginning of the game......right ok, went to next saved game, 78% clicked on it. wth took me back to the beginning of the
    game??? so everything is gone, is there any way of getting them back without having to play it all again?? And why did it happen in the first place, also ordered the Siberian ranger pack, will I still get that with the way things are?

    Game Saves Gone ?!?

    saves don't follow the game tag, that is why they were wiped when you did the format. you are a gold member if you had them saved on the cloud you would have lost nothing at all.

    That's a misunderstanding of the cloud honestly. Yes, the save is linked to your Gamertag but it's only a back-up of the last save on each system you played on. It allows you to access that file on other Xbox's or the PC if it's a Play Anywhere title.
    If you both play on the same Xbox, the cloud will only have the last saves for both of your accounts. You should check her account to see if your save file is there. If both save files are the same, somehow yours got overwritten and unfortunately there will
    be no way to recover that.

    But I thought my progress is saved on the cloud under my gamertag....? She plays on HER gamertag. She signs out of the game. We have been doing this for 6 mo this no issues. Now all of a sudden, I can't access my file. It has to be there but I can't even
    find a way to see my cloud on my xbox.
