Game saves from 360 to Xbox one without Gold account.

Hi all

Maybe someone can answer this query. We have got an Xbox one for the family and currently still have our 360. We have one Gold account which is on my son's login as he played more online. I played al my favourite games offline using my non Gold Live account.
Transfer of saves requires the game to be saved to the cloud from the 360 which we have done for my son but without a Gold account on the 360 I cannot do the same for my game saves. I understand that all users on the One have a cloud for their game saves and
only one Gold account is required.

Is there another way to transfer game saves or should I get a short term Gold subscription for my account on the 360 and save to the cloud whilst it is current?

What happens to 360 saved games in the cloud once my Gold account expires?

Having saved games to the cloud from 360 will they wait patiently hoping that compatibility for the games will arrive (eg AC Brotherhood, Grid2) or do I need to keep the 360?

Transferring to 360?

If you're playing an Xbox 360 game on your Xbox One through backward compatibility, your saves are accessible from the cloud. You shouldn't have any issues loading up a save on your Xbox 360 so long as your account has Xbox Live Gold. If you're playing the
Xbox One version of an Xbox 360 game, there isn't a way to transfer saves.

 

First time use/setup

Hi. I've bought a day one edition for my boys a surprise for Xmas but not had a chance to test it yet. Because one of my lads already has a 360 in his room with his own gold account, I am going to set up the xbox One with his as the primary account fir the gold access as that way we can use the same gold account on his 360 and the shared Xbox one.

However, if I set the Xbox one up late one night presumably I will have to add the primary/gold account that it will use (I.e my son's) as part of the initial set up . Then I'll try it with one of the games. So by doing this, when he next uses his 360 will he see that his account had been used on an Xbox one? Obviously I don't want him to suspect there is an Xbox one in the house!!!

Long story short. Keep the 360, as it might be harder to locate the console in the future.

I think they'll remain in the cloud, whether or not you have gold. But its best to have gold anyway, due to games with gold offers. Its unknown if those games will be made backward compatible.

 

I sold my 360 you should keep yours because some games won't be bc but to answer your question your saved games should still be in the cloud I saved most of my games to the hard drive but the few games I saved to the cloud went right over to my x1 so you
should be able to pick up where you left off.

Also games with gold is a great deal on the one that is 4 free games a month get it
