Game saved data lost after DLC Dragonball Z Kakarot

Hello,

I just downloaded the DLC for Dragon ball Z: Kakarot, and after it downloaded from the store, I booted up the game and it presented as if it was a new game. My completed saved data is lost. I initially quit the game, put my Xbox offline, deleted the saved
data then went back online, relaunched the game to see if it would sync the data from the cloud. It did but it was the fresh new game data it had just saved and not my old, completed game data. Is there any way to get my old saved game data back?

Have you checked on the HDD if there is an old game save? If there isn't and its being replaced with the Cloud save then there will not be a way to retrieve it.

same issue here after updating the game greeted with "failed to load save data after updating your Xbox one to the latest version launch the game on xbox one" excuse me?? I don't own an Xbox one what a waste this needs to be fixed im not starting all over again.

It sounds like the update for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot for next-gen consoles has caused an issue with your saved data. Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed fix for this, but you can try the following steps to try and resolve the issue:

Verify that your Xbox Series X and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot game are both fully up to date.

Try clearing the cache on your Xbox Series X by holding the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds to turn it off, unplugging it from the power source, and then plugging it back in.

Try removing and re-adding your Xbox Series X profile to the console.

Try playing the game while offline and then reconnecting to Xbox Live.

Try copying your save game data to an external storage device and then loading it back in
