Game save files and installed games

I’m thinking about getting a flash drive to back up my save files for my xbox 360 games. I also might use the flash drive if I get an xbox one to back up my xbox one save files. I know how much memory my xbox 360 game saves take up but I don’t know how much
memory xbox one game saves take up. Keep in mind that I sell my games after I play them, and once I have sold them I won’t want to keep the save files on my flash drive. I usually will have no more than 4 games at a time. I know that the size of game saves
varies for each game, so what size flash drive would I need to backup 4 xbox one game with the largest save files? Also, if a game save file gets lost or stops working, do you lose the achievements that you had gotten? Finally, would you recommend backing
up your installed videogame files onto a large flash drive or on a memory card, in addition to on a hard drive?

Also, where are the game save files? I can only find the overall install files.

 

Games on Demand

Can anyone tell me if it's like deleting an installed game when you can delete the game but keep the save files, does this work with games on demand or will it delete the save files when you delete the game?

 

Instead of a flash drive you should look into getting USB storage device. A recent update now allows the attachment of a USB device up to 2TB in size for storage on the 360.

Also, as for the Xbox One you can also add a USB 3.0 storage device ranging in size from 256GB - 16TB (up to two at a time) for storage. Also, the save files are stored on both the console and the Cloud for easy access. You're less likely to lose them
that way.

 

As said in the above post, avoid flash drives. They give poor performance, and they really don't last very long before starting to crap out and you lose your data. Adding to what onyx said--Avoid Seagate brand external USB drives. They're cheap, and have
compatibility issues with the Xbox 360.
