    I just got Xbox Game Pass. I'm excited to take advantage of the huge catalog of games and I'm getting hung up.

    I am signed into game launcher, the windows app. My save isn't loading for the game Middle Earth: Shadow of War. I have put a significant amount of time in and have exited and loaded the game many times. This time, my save is gone.

    I saw one fix to launch the game signed out and when it asks you to sign it, it will load the save data. That actually did work the first time this ever happened right after purchasing the game. Now it isn't making a difference how I launch the game, my
    save is gone.

    Hoping this is common enough that someone can help me. If not, obviously that sucks. Makes me reconsider the value if it's at the cost of reliability.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    No, redownloading the games will not affect his save data, the save data is saved to the cloud, and is not deleted.

    Recovering deleted data

    Games are saved to the cloud if you are connected to the internet.

    If the cloud save wasn't synced, you can't get your save data back.

    Depending on the way you've deleted your game, you also deleted save data..

    You can see if the data is still there when you go to my games and apps and check if the save data is still there.

    I’m sorry to hear that.

    This sounds like there is corruption either in the game data or in the save file.

    Do you have a save data file that is older then your current save data?

    You could revert to the other save data to try to minimize loss, however if the save data is corrupted you will unfortunately lose all the save data and your progress.

    A way to test it would be to back up your save data somewhere inaccessible by the game and then try to launch the game with a brand new save.

    If the game works then you know it is corruption in your save data.

    Game not saving data

    This was happening to me. What you have to do is save the game and then completely
    exit out. Even if you turn your XBox off and back on the game is still running. You have to press
    [​IMG]
    and
    Quit to close it out. You can then go back in and see your saved game.
