Game Room Servers Down - Preventing Achievements

As the title says, the servers appear to have been down for at the very least a week or more now. People are unable to access leaderboards or send challenges. The inability to send challenges is preventing many people from completing achievements for this
game. The splash screen lists Krome Studios as the developers of game room but upon contacting them I received an email stating they no longer had any control over game room or its servers and was told to contact Microsoft. I am currently in queue to talk
to a support representative about this but given my past experiences I am sure I will spend the next couple hours simply being told to clear my cache over and over and then shuffled off to someone else, so I am posting here in hopes that this may be noticed
by someone who can actually resolve the issue.

What is story with the Game Room servers?

I was informed the servers for Game Room have been taken down. What is the story? Thanks...

 

Game Room Servers

It's not that simple. You can't turn something on that no longer exists. When servers get shut down, they don't languish in a room all on there own , switched off and forgotten. The data is pulled, and the servers - and there would have been quite a few
- are reused for some other purpose, probably by another company.

Once these servers are gone, they're gone. The only people who can get servers back up and running are the original developers 'Krome Studios Pty Ltd'. This would take significant investment from them, the very reason why Game Room was closed down is because
Krome Studios nearly went bust in 2010.

Too bad someone can't do what Ambassador Kingz suggested and find a way to disable the online requirement for unlockables. That way, if a developer no longer wants to support or invest in their product, gamers who pay good money won't get the short end of
the stick. This is an issue with other games than just Game Room.

 

I'm really hoping this gets fixed. I unfortunately still need to get the challenge achievements done, and if it's not working that means I won't be able to get them. I would assume since Game Room is a game that's big on investment, the guys over at Microsoft
would try to make sure that it's running properly so that people aren't as regretful* for spending money on it. Last thing I'd want is to spend money on this game in the hopes of obtaining all the achievements, just to find out that one of the features isn't
working anymore. Hey, maybe if they get this fixed, it might give people incentive to spend money on it. Throw in a sale while you're at it, and I'll be happy.

* - applies to completionists and others who want these challenge achievements.

 

I,m on board in attempting to get GameRoom back online - with the time and effort that Microsoft put into this, you would think they would keep it online for longer...

 

As with all of the older EA sports games that no longer have running servers, I highly doubt MS is going to turn them back on due to the one or two people wanting it to happen.

 

I remember spending hours downloading loads of FREE game packs for that game room,only to find out afterwards that you had to pay for every one.

It took 10 seconds to delete the whole lot.

 

The game room servers are most likely still running as theyre being handled by MS.They tend to go through long stages where challenges cant be sent then POOF! They suddenly work again.

 

Sounds like they might be turning off the servers (or at least put it only one old server) for periods of time to save some money. I don't blame them, but they could at least make it transparent and give a date out for when they plan to turn the server functions
on again.

 

I have been trying for two weeks to get these achievements..never the less the fact you have to pay to play it

 

Would be nice to at least hear back from microsoft on this. There's been a few of us who contacted support now. I don't know how it went for them but I just had the support guy tell me how "I'm on your side bro" over and over in broken English with nothing
even slightly resembling an answer about the server status.

 

The game is from 2010 was there not enough time to get the achievements?

 

@halojolly many of us are vey backlogged on games, and I know for one game room wasn't very high on my priority list. Unfortunately this may cost me some online achievements when servers go down (like most EA games) but this thread is us wanting an answer
about the servers. If they are down for good well we S.O.L but if they are just messed up it is something we would like corrected. BTW as of this posting the servers are still down.

 

I only have 5 G for Games Room.

I won´t try to get all achievements not even when all the games on there are free.

I was expecting more from Games Room.

Suprise suprise. A new month has rolled around and the servers are still not working ,nor have I received any kind of response here or from my inquiry with support. I know this game isn't exactly a new flagship release but I am a paying customer still, and
the complete lack of effort on microsoft's part to even try to give me a response is really making me reconsider my choice to stick around and suffer this continued indifference though the lifespan of the xbox one. There is no reason for this complete and
utter inconsideration towards people who are paying you a monthly fee to use your services. All I am asking for is a simple Yes or No on whether the servers are down for good. Is it really that hard? Sending a guy into the other room to look at the server
is much cheaper than paying the 15 different support people to read a script and waste people's time.
