Game Refuses to Start?!

So after excitedly getting my copy of the Witcher, I finish the install only to find it won't start at all? The splash screen will show for a second and then it will default back to the home screen. Then I try again, and my Xbox goes all slow and buggy,
and won't even load other apps properly. All my other games seem to run fine after a hard reset (which I have to do every time for the system to run normally again). I'm running my box offline (will have internet back by Saturday, if that's the issue), but
I don't see how that would make a difference to a single-player game. Any advice/help?

I'm not sure this issue is with BF4. I had the same thing happen to me once a few weeks ago and then just a few days ago I had the same issue with Dead Rising 3.

I tried to play the game this morning hoping that EA and DICE have finally gotten their sh*t together, but NOPE. The game won't even launch, it keeps going to that rain picture and after a few brief seconds it kicks me out to the Home page. I'm beyond done
with this game.

 

Have you tried a hard reboot/clear your cache? hold the power button for 10 seconds, then pull the power plug from the back of the console, then press the power button on the consoles 3-4 times to discharge the systems power and reset the cache. Leave
it disconnected for 2 minutes, plug in the power cable into the console, turn on your console, should now work.

mrGREEK360, all the steps you suggested are correct except for

I highly recommend to NOT do this step above as you are essentially trying to power the console without enough to fully boot it up. The charge remaining in the power brick will drain after around 20-30 seconds as is completely normal. Trying to boot your
console off the remaining charge may cause unwanted problems and may even render your console unusable

 

Yeah, I tried the normal cache clearing method but it did nothing to help. I even went back to the game shop today and got a new disk in case that was the issue. I cleared the whole install, cache reset and all that and still no success. I'm seriously confused
why it isn't working, all my other games work fine. So I guess I'll wait till I get my internet back and see if any patches help.

 

Sly Jon, I have called Microsoft before and those were the steps given and a Google search will show that activision recommends the method I said, here is what it says.

Unlike Xbox 360, the Xbox One does not have a menu option to clear cache on the console. Instead, follow these steps to clear cache on an Xbox One:

Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers down completely.

Unplug the power cable from the back of the console so that the power brick in not connected to the console.

Press the power button on the console three or four times. This will ensure that any remaining power in the battery is drained, clearing the cache on the console.

Plug the power cable back into the console.

Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.

Turn on the console using the power button

To the OP, try to delete the game and reinstall it, your saves will be in the cloud if you play connected to Xbox live. I had the same issue as you and resetting the cache worked for me, I read somewhere if that doesn't work then reinstall is the next step.

 

This is exactly the problem I'm having. I've tried reinstalling, hard reboot, unplugging the console/ clearing the cache e.t.c.

Yeah, completely offline. Can't even earn achievements anymore, it's been that long since I went online.

 

Hey, just to wrap up this thread now but it seems to be absolutely fine now that I have myself online again. Maybe something to do with the day one patch? So yeah if you're still have trouble, just try get yourself online for the update.

 

Mine starts updating after installing the game, but get stuck at 29% and stops, its really annoying and just bought mine xbox one yesterday
