Game Pass Ultimate: The Xbox 360 Version of Crysis freezes at Checkpoints on Series X/S.

I've been trying to play the Crysis games available through Game Pass Ultimate/EA Play on my Xbox Series S, but the game locks up as soon as I reach the first checkpoint on the beach after disabling the first jammer. I can still access the dashboard and exit out of the game, so it doesn't lock up the system itself, just the game.

However, since the game locks up during Checkpoints, the Autosave is always Corrupted and I have to start the game all over again, only to have the same thing happen everytime I reach the Checkpoint.

I've searched for solutions to this problem online, but haven't found any. Some say that disabling Auto HDR fixes it, but it hasn't worked for me. I've tried three times now, but everytime I reach the Checkpoint, Crysis freezes. I've tried waiting to see if it would ever unfreeze, but it doesn't, the game locks up completely.

Based on what I've read, this issue is present in each of the Crysis 360 games on Game Pass Ultimate, and as near as I can figure, there's nothing that can be done to prevent it, ergo the games need to be patched, but on the off chance that someone here may know of a solution, I'm posting this thread here in search of answers.

Failing that, hopefully someone from Microsoft will see this and do something about it, because it makes Game Pass Ultimate look bad having games on it which are broken and cannot be progressed in due to a crippling bug.

Unfortunately you're right on this one. The game does need to be patched. I had installed and Uninstall it within 24 hours as I wasn't going to keep replaying the same checkpoint.

I'll suggest you report this as a feedback to the Xbox insiders subreddit. If this gets enough up votes, it will be considered as something people want and a change will be more likely in the works.

Unfortunately, I don't do Reddit, and I have no interest in starting an account just to post feedback that will probably just get buried anyway.

Fortunately, Crytek just announced Crysis 4, so folks will probably want to check out the original trilogy on Game Pass, and once they discover that the games don't run properly, they'll most likely end up contacting Microsoft about it, and hopefully they'll address it.

It's important to know which game your friend bought.

I say this because there are currently three versions of the Series X/S game. Gta 5 Online, Gta 5 Series X/S and Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S).

If he has purchased Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S), which gives access to the game for Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X, he can play online with you as long as he downloads the Xbox One version, so you and he will have the same save and can play online.

If he is a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber he can download the game in the Xbox One version and play with you.

Yes, the version from Game Pass is for the PC version and Xbox Series X/S version.

Are you seeing "FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S"?

It's the edition or bundle that includes both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

If this is the standard edition it will say if it's Xbox One or Xbox Series X game. The Xbox One version though is playable on Xbox Series X as well.
