Game pass PC not recognizing drives after recent windows update.

After the most recent update for windows as of 6:46PM CST 6/15/21 i can no longer install any games from the game pass app, nor the windows store. The game pass app when i click on any game to install gives me this

This is just an example. Every game does this.

On the windows store it lets me choose a drive, but when i click install it just closes and doesn't do anything.

Prior to this I had a bunch of games already installed and non of them would launch. It would just take me to the gaming services page on the Store app. So i thought it was an issue with the games install so i uninstalled them and when i tried to reinstall I got this issue.

I then tried to uninstall the Xbox app and reinstall it thinking that would fix the not recognizing drives and i still have the same issue.

I have gone in and cleared the cache and still no luck.

I'm at a loss.

Hi i have got the same problem and your answer was not really very helpful i have seen on forums that its become a real problem could you please try to look into this a bit more and see what you can come up with

Game Pass games use protected folders, and if format Windows, it no longer recognizes any game even if it is on another external hard drive or hard drive. If you install it on a Windows or PC you don't recognize any of the games.

Yes that is correct, my PC still sees the drive but the xbox no longer does. I did do a full NTFS format on windows 10 PC and oh my goodness yes it did take a very long time! It's after doing that full format that I found the xbox would not recognize the
external hard drive and the little light on the drive won't go on when plugged into the xbox, yet it functions completely normal on the PC. It's a 1TB USB 3.0 and meets the requirements that xbox gives. It passes all the diagnostic tool tests and comes back
as a healthy drive with no errors found. Thanks for your help SoAnnoying!

Hi,

You can install games on any drive, but I'm pretty sure the Game Pass app needs to go on C:\ drive.

I really wouldn't recommend having a full C:\ drive. Not only will this slow your PC down, but a full drive will make updating Windows impossible.
