Game pass pc/ms store games re install the full game size when updating

yeah ive had this issue since ive used ms store/game pass pc and its really annoying, whenever a game needs an update it will install just fine but it will take forever because for some reason it needs to install the full game size over again. it doesnt use any extra storage and i have plenty. i turn off my computer whenever im not using it so it gets daily restarts, and this happens with any update, no matter the size its supposed to be or what it would be on steam or epic. for example, im installing what would be a few MB update on no mans sky but it is installing the full 11GB of the game and it is really annoying. considering most games get very frequent small-size patches, it is really stupid having to spend a lot of time installing on my garbo internet every few days.

oh damn, thanks for helping but yeah i have too much stuff installed to reset, even if it does keep my files. have tons of drivers and stuff. thanks anyway though

I had this issue around a year ago. I could tell you all the 10 steps I followed to solve it, unfortunately what helped me to solved this was to restart my PC as it comes here:

In the part of Windows 10 click on "Reset this PC" these instructions will help you to solve the problem, you can even leave your important files!

Thanks for your post. It does not look the console is re-downloading a full game installation for an update. Update sized depend on the developer, if a developer is pushing out an update with a large amount of changes and new content/bug fixes it will reflect
with the size of the download. For troubleshooting, try out reinstallation of the game, here's how to do so:

Can I ask what makes you think it's reinstalling the entire game? Is it the download/install size listed in the queue while it's updating? Can you provide a bit more information on why you think it's re-installing the entire game? I do know those
games have rather sizeable updates when they do update, but if you have some examples, we could compare what you're seeing to the patch size.

Yes i have a great examples for both,

For gta, each time a update major like the casino update and the casino heist update was released they were roughly close to 10 Gb but i had to install nearly a 70 GB update and as for red dead redemption 2, when the roles was released and any updates requiring
downloads and are not background updates it makes me update it for 101 to 119 GB update (which is the full game size)
