Game Pass PC Forza Horizon 5 not installing

    Game Pass PC Forza Horizon 5 not installing


    I have played FH5 since the early release on game pass (I bought the premium addon pack) but since the patch that was just released i couldn't play it. It only gave me an exclamation mark on the launcher splash screen after it said "looking for updates.." that said something along the lines of "Something happened while starting your game" and only an OK button.
    So i tried to uninstall and then reinstall in the game pass app, but now it refuses to install at all.
    0% Error (0x87e00017).
    The weird part here is that when i try to do the reinstall it launches two installations in the queue in the game pass app, one of 101.7gb and one of 122gb. The 101.7gb just sits there and gets the "Error 0%" pretty quick but the bigger one sits on preparing for a couple of minutes and then just disappears from the list.

    I have tried:
    Restarting PC.
    Reparing and resetting game pass app (xbox), games services, microsoft store and any other relevant service i could find.
    Installing on another disk drive.

    I have played a lot, finished the weekly tasks, gotten into hall of fame etc so its something after the patch but i can't for the life of me figure out what and i can't seem to find anyone else having issues with this after the patch, not on this forum, reddit or any other troubleshooting pages i find.

    Any tips?

    Forza horizon 4 is OK too. But I bought it.

    And Forza horizon 5 uses Game Pass.

    I can start Forza 5 on my PC, can not start on Xbox serious S.

    A problem with forza horizon 5

    Some items included on the Premium Edition include installation and some don't such as the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass and Forza Horizon 5 VIP Membership which should be available inside of your game immediately.

    In this case, simply quit the game then restart your device to re-sync the game data.

    If anyone has Game Pass, try installing Forza Horizon 5...that pushes the graphics quite hard so any console issue is likely to appear in that game too
