Game Pass PC can't start games, shows Gaming Services instead.

So just today I tried to launch Hollow Knight and CrossCode, and both times opened up Microsoft Store with Gaming Services selected. I tried reinstalling Gaming Services, but I still can't run either Hollow Knight or CrossCode. I tried reinstalling the games
and it just got stuck at Queued.

Microsoft games like Forza Horizon 4 and GoW4 work fine though. It's the non Microsoft games are not working? Anyone else having this issue?

formatting seems like way too much work just for for the gamepass.

everything else is working fine.

also the next update might just break it again.

Another update:

So I've reinstalled my Xbox App, and now when I tried installing anything from there it always go from Preparing to Error 0x80080005.

Now I've googled my way through this error, restart a couple of services according to a couple different thread from here, but I always get 0x80080005.

Before this weekend my Xbox App was set to install games on my E: drive where my SSD NVMe is. Now I tried using C: and it is still giving me 0x80080005. This is very frustrating, while similar service like EA Origin never gives me this hard time

Now I'm going deeper into the rabbit hole. I opened up Windows Event Viewer and saw that GamingServices (which I think is required for Game Pass to work) always throw this error:

The GamingServices service terminated with the following error:

The system cannot find the file specified.

And this only started happening on 07/12/2019. Either there was a botched update on my GamingServices, or somehow it got corrupted. I'll try to reinstall this again.

Fixed it myself. Had to finally uninstall the game and reinstall it. But all this bloat and issues with gamepass on pc makes me not wanting to renew it.

I'm having the same problem.

Trying to start a game it takes me to the gaming services app on the windows store.

I've been trying for hours to get this to work but no matter what i tried nothing works.

The GamingServices service that should be starting automatically just isn't starting.

If i try to start the service manually i get the following error.

Windows could not start the GamingServices service on Local Computer

Error 5: Access is denied

Hey man sorry to hear that. I ended up reformatting my computer, it looks like GamingServices got botched on my last system update.

Try restoring to the last stable checkpoint if possible. If not then you might need to reformat your Windows, or just forget about Game Pass and go back to Steam
