Game pass games not working offline, possible change in function?

So today my internet went out due to snow-im one of the .1% of xbox gamers that use satellite internet for stuff- and I went to play Rage 2 from game pass and... it told me to sign in or renew my subscription. When the snow thawed at last, and I booted my
xbox up with internet, it worked just fine(Well, as fine as Rage 2 can be). Does Xbox no longer allow offline play when you have game pass games? If so I'd like to know so I may cancel my subscription.. No point in having it if I can't play the games offline,
I rely on singleplayer games, and game pass is the cheapest path.

As long as the xbox is home xbox and you sign in once every 30 days you should be able to play offline.

Try to power cycle the xbox by holding the power button for 10 seconds and disconnecting the power cable.

If that doesnt work perform a system reset without removing games or apps: https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults

is your Xbox set as your Home Xbox?

did you set your Xbox to Off-line?

Hi Big,

Thanks for coming to the forums. With an Xbox console, to play offline you need the console set as home, and need to select go offline in network settings. Reason for this, is it lets Microsoft/Xbox know you are going offline. Then you will be able to play
any game that has single player or local in their description offline. Here is support page for

using console offline.

If possible try connect to hotspot go offline and change home console. Then you should be good. Since they are game pass games, you technically don't own the games yet so you would be required to be online.

I do not have service where i live, hotspot is impossible. And I have already set it as my home xbox, even check to make sure, and it gave me the option to remove it, showing that it's already set. Tried to play a game using the 'go offline' prompt and still
nothing except already fully bought games work.
