Game Pass downloads on Xbox Series X with a Watchguard firewall T30

Also, I use a Watchguard T30-W for my router at home which I admit is pretty non-standard. To my absolute amazement, it would seem there is an issue with Xbox game downloads and corporate firewalls. It all of a sudden seems extremely likely to me that my firewall is the issue.

I can't imagine many people use a corporate firewall for their home network. It's starting to look like it might be that.

I have not tried to download a game from Xbox Game Pass since I installed this firewall...

I am going to try the below:

"I used Wireshark to sniff what the Xbox was actually trying to do and discovered that it attempts to download a file called ppcrlconfig600.bin via an HTTP GET command. This was being blocked by the firewall because within the HTTP response from the server
the body content type was matching a rule that denied Windows EXE/DLL with a match value of %0x4d5a900003000000040.

fyi the firewall in question is a Watchguard. In laymans terms the problem was the firewall blocking the download of the .bin file. Once I permitted this the Xbox connected and worked first time."

When I've tried this I will update this post but it's really looking likely that my firewall is blocking the download of certain files. That would make sense because I understand that these Xbox Game Pass downloads use encryption and stuff for DRM and verifying your Game Pass subscription.

I've found a post where a person couldn't download games to their Xbox One through a Watchguard Firebox T30-W which is my exact router.

I'm going to re-enable my autorenewal for Game Pass for now... At this point I'm convinced the issue is with my firewall.

Firsly, I'm going to try to allow all traffic from/to my PC through the firewall no questions asked... I'll update this thread as it all unfolds.

I've been able to confirm my Watchguard Firebox T30-W firewall router was blocking HTTP Windows EXE/DLL requests from the Game Pass download stream. I've been able to rectify the problem by allowing these through.

I haven't had this firewall for very long and it turns out it's affected my home network more than I expected! I can finally play 'art of rally' .
