With Smart Delivery, a new technology introduced with Xbox Series X|S, you get the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game in one purchase, and the best version of the game will automatically be delivered to your console, regardless of generation – no extra steps required from you.

For example, if you purchase a Smart Delivery game for your Xbox One and you later upgrade to an Xbox Series X|S, you’ll automatically receive the Xbox Series X|S optimized version of the game at no additional cost.

If there is a deluxe digital additiom.which there usually are you just dont get the physical benefits like collectors items

And no you cant use a physical disk

Thats the price you pay for buying the lesser unit

Smart Delivery will be available for physical discs, but they haven't released exactly how it will work with those yet.

the things on it will transfer over. Xbox has already announced their new tech known as "Smart Delivery" which will be able to cover saves, DLC and games over to the new console to make it easier for Developers to get their content to as many players and customers
as easy as possible.
