Game Pass Affecting Purchases

Hey Everyone

I have run in to a problem and was wandering if anyone else is having the same issue. I have noticed that some of my purchased games that are also on Game Pass are not being recognised as being purchased before.

Its coming up with a message saying "This product is installed. You can play 'name of the game' with Xbox Game Pass for Console, or buy it to own."

Some of this game are not coming up on the "Ready to Install" games list, so my only options are to get Game Pass or re-purchase the same game that I'v already purchased before.

So far I haven't run in to any games that has this issue that are not in Game Pass. The game that I found with this problem are the following, "Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Just Cause 3, Just Cause 4, Devil May Cry 5, Strange Brigade and Deus Ex Mankind Divided.
I'm sure there's a few more games that ill find out about at a later date.

Note: This problem also happens at xbox.com, it isn't just on my Xbox One.

Yees!, I do have this sam eproblem, but never paid more attention to it, my game pass subscription is gonna end really soon so I'll take a look at those games before renewing to see if I can play them

Just to be sure it's the same version of the game?

Because for example i have Deus Ex: Making Divided Digital Deluxe and Game Pass have the standard version.

If i go on the store for the standard version it says buy it on the deluxe says you own this game.

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with purchased games and game pass.
I recommend to contact Customer Support
to help report the issue on the Microsoft Account.

Give this a try and let us know the results.

I recently cancelled my GP and this was happenings.

I had to uninstall the game and put the disc back to install it again.

I'm guessing you'd have to uninstall and re download the games for them to work.

This is the only solution I know unfortunately.

thanks for the reply, and though that is helpful information, it is irrelevant to my problem. My problem is that it's asking me to pay for a game I already own, so i can't re-download it without paying for it again.
