Game Pass across consoles

Hi, I hope you guys can understand this, we have two xbox consoles in our house and both of them have all our accounts signed in. My dad has game pass and used it to install a few games for free, one of them was forza horizon 5. we installed it through game pass on both consoles but due to game pass we are unable to play it on both consoles at the same time, even when we are signed in on different accounts.

I want to know, even though my console already has forza horizon 5 installed through game pass, if I paid for it and clicked buy now, with it already being installed, will me and my dad be able to play it at the same time on the separate consoles? him being on game pass and me having brought the game?

Please tell me someone knows...

Hello Chantevan, you can, for this you will have to share as shown in the example below.

You have 2 accounts and 2 consoles. Let's call them Account A, Console A and account B, console B.

Account A has the subscription and B does not. A should sign into Console B and make it his Home Xbox and then sign out of that console and let account B sign in.

Doing that, account B will have access to the subscriptions and games on account A's account and they can play together.

The issue with gamesharing often happens when the account with the games/subscription doesn't sign out after making the other console his Home

Xbox, but once it's signed out, the other account can sign in and access everything.

To designate an Xbox console as your home Xbox;

• Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

• Select System > Settings > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

• Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.

No, you can play together, but each will have to play on their own account after the game has been downloaded and the sharing done.

If you and your brother want to be able to share across your four consoles both users will need to have a
Game Pass subscription and have to mark the console you do not play on most of the time as the account's home console.

Just to add. Both users don't NEED a Game Pass in order to use the Home Xbox feature.

On an Xbox 360 the content licensing works thusly:

The Xbox that has the license (the one that originally downloaded it OR had a license transfer done) can play the game.

The Xbox Account that bought the game can play the game, provided its signed into live.

If your console doesn't have the license, then the only way a game can be played is if his profile is signed in (you can play via your profile, but his must be signed in).

If you plan ahead, or move licenses around accordingly you can negate this issue.
