Game/Party chat fail

Not 100% sure if it's Halo or the Xbox it's self, but while playing Halo we have had many issues with losing voice communications during game and in the menu.

Attempted fixes:

-Starting a party:

After getting party chat set up it shows a gray circle next to our names. No voice is heard.

-Disbanding/restarting in game party:

No voice is heard.

-Quitting the game on the dashboard:

fixes in game, but party still displays gray circle and no voice is heard. (in party)

Xbox / microsoft fail

The party chat only usually fails if someone in the party has NAT issues.

For private chat you can snap the Skype app and use Skype. It even works unsnapped.

 

After new headset

Have you done a hard reset?

Have you tried moving from party chat to game chat and back a few times?

Have you given it enough time to load?

if all else fails try MS live chat tech support.

 

Its microsoft. My brother and I are on the same network and can't party chat or join games even with eachother. Its been like this for the past 3 days. Hope they fix it soon and comp everyone..

 

Which headset do you use? Have you tried switching between the party and game chat with the party app? Is this also happening when using Kinect for chat?

 

My xbox is is the same situation. earlier today and yesterday evening I was unable to connect with friends via party. In game chat seems to function alright.

Yes. Unresponsive upon selecting the option.

Thxs for the information. As this is also happening when using the Kinect for chat it may be a problem with your connection and not with the hardware or the Xbox itself.

Would you provide us with some information on your network environment please? Especially useful is the information which router you use, how you are connected and your NAT status. You may please also perform a multiplayer connection test. In the result
screen please hold LT, LB, RT and RB simultaneously to start the detailed connection test. Wait for the detailed NAT status and post back the results here, too.

 

It's not his environment, it's the crappy xbox and/or live service. I've experienced the same thing over the past few days. Party chat works and then all of a sudden I can't hear anyone anymore. Just magically stops working. Why do we have to troubleshoot

This is happening to me also but I can't even chat to anyone at all

If I join a party from a friend inviting me, or I invite someone in the party you normally see 2 purple circles next to our names yes? My friend says im not even in the party, although I CAN see them I cant even hear them and they cant hear me

Even in game chat doesn't work (Destiny) as I cant even switch between fireteam/in game chat, although my friend can switch to fireteam chat and I can hear them that way

Tried both headset and even resetting kinect, tried unplugging conolse, hard reset, nothing seems to work

Please MS give us some info!

 

Come on MS. step your game up. XBL is supposed to be the go-to for multiplayer experience. you are failing at even letting your customers speak with each other. In-game communications failing, and if we want to do some trouble shooting we still have to type
out a whole conversation with a controller keyboard due to no voice messaging. The last comment was over a week ago and we still have no response. Is this how you treat your customers? Let us know something.

Party chat is flat out garbage. I am so frustrated. 90% of my time is *** because its impossible trying to play gakes with friends because we are unable to communicate. Everytime I boot up my console and invite a friejd to my party it either shows him in
the party with no mic icon when I absolutely know he is using one or it shows him with a mic but it aint blinking as if he aint speaking. The next day hell say he saw the same on his end with me. jesus this is annoying. 2 waisted nights when I could've been
gaming with friends because of this garbage.
