Hey, there is apparently a game that showed up on my Xbox One that I did not purchase or get with Xbox Live Gold but apparently it says I own it though I do need an Xbox Live Gold Membership to play it, the full version of the game. There's no trial version
of the game so it can't be that. The only person on my friend list who plays this game actually goes by 2 people, my cousin and a friend of my cousin who owns his own Xbox One.

I never allowed anyone to make their own account or sign in on their account on my Xbox One as I'm the only person who used my Xbox One. Yet somehow a game that they I think own from Xbox Live Gold has shown up in my "Ready to Install" area in the Games
and Apps and in the Xbox Store, it says I own it even though I didn't buy it or use Gold because I didn't have Gold since January. Soooo..... I think game sharing could be part of it but I doubt that because we don't exactly live in the same city, I never
had anyone make their account on my Xbox, no one but me and a friend of mine used this Xbox to play games and my friend doesn't even have an Xbox One and is not a fan of the game that had shown up on my console.

What do you think happened? I would talk with Xbox Support right now but there's like 40 people in line.

That games is not backwards compatible (which would be up to the publisher). So in order to play it on the One you'd either need another game pass subscription or you would have to purchase it for the One.

That explains the mixed bag I've seen in relation to which games play, and which don't. Maybe we're using different interpretations of the term 'backwards compatible,' though. I guess I made the mistake of assuming that the new Xbox
would simply be able to run old games - that the console would simply have the tools to make the previous generation of games work. What you said is that the game is not backwards compatible, it feels to me like what you mean is that the
console isn't backwards compatible, and the publisher didn't want to produce a new version of the game for free.

I guess my level of trust for Microsoft just went down a couple notches. I used to genuinely like your stuff, these days I'd say that there simply aren't other options that I like better.

Nothing can be transferred between accounts. Best thing to do is just delete the other account and forget about it.

If it's WWE 2k17, it's a free play weekend so the game will automatically show up.

Hi again; I feel like I should let this go, but it really seems like something is being missed here. Just to be sure, I double-checked the definition of backward compatibility:

Being that this discussion was posted in the Backwards Compatibility forum, I think this needs to be said. The game is not forward compatible. Backwards compatibility is something that the newer product, in this case, the console, would either succeed or
fail at. Blaming the publisher here doesn't seem at all justified; this is in Microsoft's court.

Maybe the kind of compatibility I was expecting has just been the norm across other systems to the extent that I didn't do my homework. I felt like, in today's market, expecting the new Xbox to run my 360 games was a pretty safe bet on my part. Lesson learned.
Now I have the decision of refusing to buy the new game, and resenting Microsoft for not being able to make arcade games compatible, or buying the new copy and feeling like I've been scammed into purchasing the same thing twice.

I have too much Microsoft crap to want to look at other options over game compatibility, but part of me almost hopes to see more situations like this. Maybe I'd like Apple once I got used to it. How about you screw up Office compatibility next, so I feel
justified in considering the switch?
