  1. Game Not Launching On Xbox One X

I have been trying to solve a problem with Call of Duty Black Ops 4 not loading past the launch screen on my Xbox One X. Although this Xbox had been in the Insiders program (it wasn't when this issue began, but I added this box to see it a different OS would help solve the issue - as I have my other Xbox One in the Insiders program and the game runs normally on that box) this week, and I reported a problem with it late last night, it's not giving me the option today after factory resetting it again, so I'm reporting my problem here.

    Today, I followed the instructions of Intrepid_Days via /r/xboxone Subreddit page as follows;

"With how much you've been diving into the issue, I will say that contacting our live support to investigate this further would be the best bet. However, I want to provide a breakdown of the most comprehensive steps to clear out console issues first, for you to attempt at your discretion.

To preface, for this situation, I personally would recommend taking your console back to the general audience build, as that will be the most stable release with the most chances for things to work smoothly. You can go back to the general audience build by going to the "Xbox Insider Hub" app > Insider content > Xbox Update Preview (under System) > Manage > Unenroll. You will stay in the Insider program and be able to access other previews and use the "Report a problem" feature, but your system will be back to the general audience build instead of a preview insider build.

Next, onto cleaning up your system. It will involve completely erasing everything from the device, and maybe some repositioning, but if you're comfortable with that, here are the steps:

    1. Disconnect any external hard drives from the console. (Leaving them unplugged for the entirety of troubleshooting)
    2. Ensure console is plugged into wall outlet, not surge protector.
    3. Ensure plentiful ventilation for the device, with no obstructions around it and it not being in a confined space.
    4. Do a system reset, selecting the option to Reset and remove everything, which includes games, apps, and profiles. (Found via Settings > System > Console info > Reset console)
    5. After that is complete, ensure internet connectivity (hardwired with ethernet cable is preferred here for increased stability).
    6. Re-add your profile to the console and no others until you have finished this troubleshooting.
    7. Make sure your Xbox is set as the home Xbox for the account that has the game on it.
    8. Perform a full power cycle for your device: Full shutdown by holding down the power button for 10 seconds, then unplugging the device and leaving unplugged for 30 seconds, then plugging back in and turning back on.
    9. Download and reinstall the game, and then attempt to play.

If you are encountering issues still after all that, make sure to use the "Report a problem" feature to send that in, and then the best option will be contact live support and explain the steps you've walked through and that you've reported a bug for the issue.

Our live support lines can always be reached through this page: https://support.xbox.com/contact-us

    I really hope this helps!"

I did follow these instructions to a "T", but it didn't change anything, the problem remains. I try to load the game and I can't get past the launch screen, it crashes to the desktop with no error message.

Since the problem began before I added this box to Insiders, I'm not sure if it would make a difference reporting the problem, or not, but I am since he told me to.

Here's a list of what I've tried to resolve the problem which were unsuccessful:
This Xbox One X is set on Power Saving Mode, has been unenrolled from the Xbox Insiders Preview program (it wasn't when this problem evolved, and I have reported a problem to them thru the Xbox One X "Report A Problem" section by pressing the Home button on 7/9/20 some time after 1 a.m. EST) and is hard-wired to the router.

Checked Xbox Live Services to make sure there were no problems.

Checked my network status (tests) to be sure there were no issues.

Tried hard-wiring it directly to the modem in case there was a router/firewall or DNS issue.

Removed any external devices attached to the box (USB keyboard/external drive).

Power cycled/cleared cache: Held down power button for 10 seconds, unplugged the box and left unplugged for 30 seconds, then plugged back in and turned back on.

Joined the Xbox Insiders Preview program to use a different OS.

Tried launching the game while offline.

Connected the Xbox One X directly to the modem instead of a router.

Cleared the local saved data on the box and cleared the reserved space for the game.

Tried using a different profile to play the game. I can play the same game normally on my other Xbox One with the same profile.

Changed HDMI cables, resolution on the Xbox and changed tv's.

Uninstalled/re-downloaded/re-installed the game and then performed a soft factory reset and then a hard factory reset after there was no change in the error the first time, then re-downloaded and re-installed the game with no other added games, apps, or profiles on the system.

Installed the game on an external drive from my other Xbox One, where I can play the game with no issues, and plugged that drive into my Xbox One X after a hard factory reset with no other added games or apps installed on the system.

And, last but not least - I followed the instructions from Xbox One's Subreddit tech help that I mentioned above.

So, there you go and I'm off to see if I can get anyone in Xbox Support to help.

    Thanks,
    Alyce

    Xbox Series X thoughts?

With the Xbox One X you'll be safe to wait well after launch to buy the new Series X.

They've already said that launch games like Halo Infinite will also be launched for Xbox One consoles.

I've had my Xbox One X for over a year. I plan to buy the Xbox Series X for my main television and then move my Xbox One X to my living room television as my secondary console.

“All of our games… will play up and down that family of devices” – Xbox’s Matt Booty ends the next-gen exclusive as we know it

I will buy a Series X, but not on launch. Also not sure if we will get all the services at the local launch in my region or when it will be launched locally. With the Xbox One we had to wait a whole year after the international launch. One X we where lucky
to get it a month after.

I don't think new games will be playable on the older consoles, just Xbox One family of consoles and the Series X.

Will need to wait for more information regarding this.

It is constant, it is happening every time I launch the game, I also tried to launch the game on my Xbox One X and had the same issue.

    Xbox games

It is a transition time between Xbox One S/X to the new Xbox one Series X, sooner or late people will move on and get the new console, but at least Xbox games will be playable on the series X and Xbox one for at least a year since the launch date, which
    to me is great!

It depends on what launch day you are referring to.

Personally I am ready to play all the games that are going to be available on the Xbox Series X.

I am also ready to see what will become of the Xbox one and successors (One, S, and X), I wonder when they will start to discontinue them just because they will have made a successful launch of the Series X.
