Game launching

Is there anyway to stop a game from running?

If i'm at the home screen and hit B regardless of what is selected the game launches.

If I go to activity on my pins, it launches whatever game is in the console.

I've only had the One for about a week and this is starting to get annoying having a game load at seemingly random times when I dont want it to. Anyway to make this work like every other console out there where only way to start is it hit A when I have the
game selected?

I am trying to play Cod Infinite Warfare & Modern Warfare Remastered, every time I go to click on the game it gives me this error code " 0x87e107eb " . The code is somehow not affiliated with the Xbox error help page. Are the servers down or what is the
problem and when is it back up running correctly.

when launching the game it say error 6.0 or assetfile23.pak xbox support did all there steps trouble shooting be still not launching

 

Yes, you can stop a game or app from running. Hover over the game or app tile on the Xbox Home Screen and press Menu (the button with the 3 lines) and press 'Close Game/App' at the bottom (the cross).

 

Even with it closed like you said this still happens.

 

I think there is something in the settings that will launch the game automatically if it is placed in the disc drive.

 

Let me ask, when you press B, what is it you're trying to do or expecting to happen?

Typically, the way the operating system on the One works is, when you press B, it backs out of what you're currently doing (so, closes a snapped app, goes to previous screen, etc.) OR, it goes to the previous thing you were doing. On the Home screen, it
should go back to whatever the last app/game was that was running. For example, if I'm in a game, go back to home, then press B, it "goes back" to the game, since that was the last active thing. (And yes, even if the game is physically closed using the Start-Quit
method, it will simply relaunch the game.) If I'm in a game, then switch to Activity Feed, pressing B would return me to the game.

If I'm Home, launch one App, then go back home, then launch another app, then go back home, pressing B should return to the most recent App (unless I'm mistaken, or they've changed B to be the "back to game" button.)

Let us know what it is you're trying to do (maybe give us specific steps like, 1. I do this, 2. I press B, 3. Game launches.)

I'm just hitting B to cancel out of things. I'm the type that hit's esc three times on the keyboard to cancel when I only need to do it once. So this habit carry's over to the controllers to. I'm used to B being cancel and if I am in my friends list (or
where ever in the menu's) I tend to hit B B B to cancel out and get back to the home screen when I guess only one B would work. And when I do this it launches the game.

But I found that if I changed power settings to power saving mode and shut the console down it will not load the game when I hit B (until after I play a game of course)

I guess I just need to start thinking of B as Back and not cancel/exit like on other console systems.
