Game is way too hard

also, dogmeat finds stuff and alerts to danger the others cant, plus he doesnt talk, thats way better than the jabbery fools

 

I won't put the game on maximum difficulty because I don't think I would enjoy it as much. Normal feels right to me. Maybe when I'm a higher level and I have a few more perks, I'll move the difficulty up a little. We'll see.

 

it makes much more difference where you put your skill points, on survival you gotta pick a play styld early on and really max it out, no experimenting or trying to be a jack of all

 

That's true... I'm putting almost nothing toward combat, which is okay for me because I can manage without. I may have to shoot a few more bullets but I'm doing just fine.

You do really have to make an early decision how you want to play the game. In Fallout 3 you could easily get away with being a jack of all trades, but this time it's not so easy. I lean more toward intelligence because I enjoy all those perks - gun nut/scrapper/robotics/hacking,
etc.

 

Upgrade your weapons and armor as soon as possible at a crafting station. Invest in Gun Nut and Armorer perks. Search everywhere as ammo can be everywhere. There is even a perk to increase ammo amounts in found containers. Luck is important in this game
as compared to Fallout 3 and New Vegas where it was almost meaningless; it DOES affect your accurracy in aiming. A dead on aim down sights with no investment in lucjk can and will result in game indicated "misses". Your carry weight is your compainion's carry
weight. See a skull next to an enemy-proceed with caution. VATS accuracy is dependent on luck stat. You are going to die occassionaly-"quicksave" is your friend. Do the first quest in the Brotherhood of Steel and you will get rewarded with "Rightous Authority"
which is a good Legendary weapon; upgrade it often. Stay in the northern part of the map until you feel comfortable with your skills. approach "Legendary" enimes with caution (they have a star next to their name); they are harder to kill but give "Legendary"
loot. VATS is not the panceia that it was in Fallout 3 use it in combination with aim down sights; hip-fire when enimies are close. VATS is useless with a sniper class weapon; you are better of aiming down sights. Above all keep trying as this game, even with
it's shortcommings, it has its awsome moments.

Yeah this game Isnt Linear, you can always hold off missions as long as you want an level up, your character an your weapons an go back, that satilite mission was a difficult one for me too, definatly stay away from it for a while, the best weapon in my
opinion is the overseers' guardian!

 

People think Fallout is hard?...

 

Surely on very easy/easy you can literally just punch everything to death? haha

(Fallout 4 is best experienced on hard though, it's theme suits being difficult)

Yessss played it on the PC not too long ago, it's definitely a new challenge, can't wait for it to hit the consoles.
