    Game installs from disc, but when I press A to activate, it won't activate


    I've got an XBox One. I use it only for the "driving simulator" programs. Currently I have Forza 5, Forza 6, Forza 7, and NASCAR Heat 4, all installed fine and are all working fine.

    About a month or so ago, I only had Forza 5 and Forza 6. I borrowed the Forza 7 and NASCAR Heat 5 from my local library. Both installed fine and when I pressed A, they both activated like normal. After "driving " both of them for a few days, I decided
    to buy Forza 7, but opted to go with NASCAR Heat 4 instead of NASCAR Heat 5. I was primarily interested in being able to drive on the Mid-Ohio course and the features of NASCAR Heat 4 were good enough for me.

    A week ofr so ago, as I was looking thru the XBox One discs at the library again, I spotted Need For Speed and checked it out, intending to try it out and also buy my own copy if I liked it. The disc installed fine, updated fine, but when it got to
    showing the Press A to Continue message, that message went into a a fading and brightening cycle continuously, and when I pressed A, the program would not activate at all. Repeatedly pressing A did nothing.

    Does anyone know what the problem might be ? I had no problem with the library copies of Forza 7 and NASCAR Heat 5, but Need For Speed installs fine and updates fine, but pressing A to try to activate does nothing.

    Installing Physical copies to HDD

    The use activation codes for PC games all the time. You can install from anybody's disc, but without a code it won't run.

    I want my games to run off the disc not the digital copy

    ^ Az is correct, the only time the disc is active is when its installing, after that it plays from the HDD no option to play from disc.

    What features for games would you like on the next console.

    The reduction from 5 active ps3 to two! I have owned 3 ps3 since before that. We are a gaming family and since they have reduced the ps3 activations to two it is nothing but a nightmare.

    Yes Ps3 installs parts of the game disc not the full disc which is what people are wanting

    My brand new Xbox series X wont download any discs

    When doing disc install and there is an update you get a question to do that simultaneously.

    - choose Later on that, so only disc install completes first

    This way disc install will complete undisturbed.

    Later there will be an update to activate from network later.

    Never had issues with disc install doing it this way.

    Have you tried installing the game to your hard drive? Look at the bottom of the screen on the dashboard and press the button for more options on the disc (Y or X I believe) then choose install disc. After that you'll only need the disc in the console
    but it won't read from it when you play.
