Game installation

Hello,

I have recently buy a Xbox one and I'm surprised by the time I have to wait for the installation of differents games before being able to play.

Is it normal to have to wait almost an hour for the installation of a game as simple as Worms Battlegrounds ?

Hello,

Is Worms a downloaded game? Yes, it's not uncommon for game installations to take longer than they did on the Xbox 360. Games on the Xbox One are much larger; if there's any component of the game being downloaded, then the length of time it takes is entirely
dependent on your internet connection.

Worms isn't a downloaded game, I bought a physical game version.

I also tried to install SW Battlefront and Halo 5, I know that the contents of the games are much larger than before, but it took several hours for each game to be installed. That's why I seriously begin to be worry about my console. Could it be a problem
from the machine ?

Example:

If you're installing a 40-GB file and it shows 25-percent downloaded (30 GB remaining) and your connection speed is 10 Mb/s, it should take about 4.4 hours for the download to complete. (This assumes the speed stays the same.)

Installing a game using a game disc also requires additional components to be installed in your console. It may also download additional updates for the game itself over the Internet which may also affect the installation time.

So when you install from disc, the first thing it does is download title updates. In the case of Halo 5 and Star Wars these are significant even on the day of the release; for Worms, even this might be quite sizeable now. Thus the first thing your console
is doing is downloading a large file, after which it installs from disc. The process of installing from disc should actually be quite rapid, but it's the downloading process that takes time, dependent on your connection speed.

The next new game you install, you may want to try taking your console offline and then inserting the disc. This installation should complete quickly. Then go back online and the console will download the title update. It should be faster overall, and for
the download you'll get a more accurate representation of the progress as you'll be told the file size and so on.

Thank you for keeping us updated. Is this game a digital download, or a disc game? If it is a disc game, the disc could be faulty if used. Let us know this detail and we will do our best to help you out.

I would also test out your console to see if it is capable of completing downloads. Cancel the download for the cars game. You can then try downloading a demo, or a free game like fortnite.

Curious, how long have you let it sit at 40%? I've had games do this occassionally, and I'll see it sitting still when downloading and not progressing. I've honestly just left it and did something else, and came back later (maybe a half hour) and then
it would be moving a little again. I'm not sure if maybe the specific file it's downloading at that time might be larger or how it works, but I've done that before. I would let it sit for a little bit and see if it moves, but if it's not moving after 30-60
minutes then yes try more troubleshooting. Good luck!
