Game installation stopping at 3% while other games install.

Please try installing the Xbox app on your phone and search for the game there. Once done, please try installing the game using the Xbox app to your console. Make sure that the game disc is inserted into your console's disc drive.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issue with a game you installed. If the game didn't install properly, or stopped for a time it would uninstall itself. This has been in effect for a while. Same as if you stop an installation, or pause
it. After a while it will uninstall to protect from corruption. All you need to do is install again. Make sure you do not pause or stop it.

Hi there, you can most certainly select to install the update while the game itself is still installing, I believe what happens though is it will immediately start the download of the update and stop installing from the disc so sometimes to make it a faster
process, installing the game while offline and then the updates after the game is finished installing offline will be the fastest way to get gaming.

Though to answer your questions, it won't stuff anything up installing the update while the game is still installing, might just make it a little slower.

Thank you for keeping us updated. Is this game a digital download, or a disc game? If it is a disc game, the disc could be faulty if used. Let us know this detail and we will do our best to help you out.

I would also test out your console to see if it is capable of completing downloads. Cancel the download for the cars game. You can then try downloading a demo, or a free game like fortnite.

Curious, how long have you let it sit at 40%? I've had games do this occassionally, and I'll see it sitting still when downloading and not progressing. I've honestly just left it and did something else, and came back later (maybe a half hour) and then
it would be moving a little again. I'm not sure if maybe the specific file it's downloading at that time might be larger or how it works, but I've done that before. I would let it sit for a little bit and see if it moves, but if it's not moving after 30-60
minutes then yes try more troubleshooting. Good luck!
