Game Installation keeps stopping

Just bought battlefield 4 and have been trying to install it. Each time I do, it stops at 41% and when I attempt to continue the installation, it is then unable to do so, with the message that the disc is dirty or damaged (error code 0x87e00064).

However it is a brand new disc and does not appear to be damaged. I've tried multiple times to start it again, including after hard resets and disconnecting from the network. Nothing has worked and it keeps getting stuck at the same point.

Any other fixes I can try?

I recently purchased the Gears of War: UE bundle and tried installing the game. Every few minutes (an average of 3 minutes) the game keeps stopping. The worse part is that it's at 0%. I have no other games saved. This is my one and only game.

Hello Manic,

Could you power cycle (support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console) your console and also turn your router off and back on?

Try that and see if the installation improves.

Let us know how you get on.

 

Have you tried going into my games and apps, highlight the game, press the menu button, click on manage game, and see if you can delete the internal data. Might be the issues that can fix this.

If all else fails, you might want to restore your console to factory defaults.

 

Did you just recently purchase the console? I've seen online that some people had success installing after downloading the Blu-Ray app so give that a try if you haven't done so already.

Another thing you can try is to hold the power button for 10 seconds until the console shuts down then unplug everything for 5 minutes.
