Game Guide not appearing on press of Center Button. Backdoor settings access available?

Not an express Error Code, but I am having a hard time with my Xbox One. Whenever I press the Center button on my controller to access the settings menu, the sound activates and the screen dims, but the menu never appears from the left side of the screen.
When I move the sticks, it continues to move my cursor around on the now dim original screen.

I've attempted to load games and apps, and none of them are working. So I'm attempting to do a factory reset without losing all of my save data through the settings menu, but I can't even access that. Is there an alternate/backdoor method to access the
settings that I'm not thinking about? Thanks!

Can’t access “sidebar settings”

when i press the center “X” button the screen only dims. The left side menu does not pop up. I cannot access settings, and can’t get out of a game back to home screen

Hi Choppin, Have you done the hard reset by disconnecting the power and leaving it for 2 mins and then reconnecting the power? It helps to clear the cache so may help solve your problem.

Attempt to redownload the game from your purchase history,

Press the Center Guide Button -> All the way to the right to Settings -> Account Management -> Download History

Does the item appear there? Will it let you download it?

Thank you for keeping us updated. The Xbox message center can be accessed through the Xbox guide menu. We will provide instructions on how to access the message center through the guide. Be sure to let us know if the message with the code appears in your
message center.

How to access the Xbox message center:

Press the Xbox button on the controller while at the home screen
Scroll to the Communications tab
Select Conversations

When you plug in your headset, you will see settings appear in the Xbox Guide menu.

Press the Guide button, go down to the settings tab, and you should see the available options for your connected headset.

You can also try clearing your MAC address.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system, then Settings.

In the General tab, select Network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear.

Restart your console. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your controller to open the Power Center.

Select Restart console and then select Restart.

(If the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart.)

Sign in to your console.
