    Game Gifting Doesn't work


    Was recently bought a gift from a friend who is overseas (I'm in Australia he's in America)

    Found out that i couldn't redeem it as im not in the same region

    Now normally i would understand region locking on Redeem codes for standard Purchases

    But why are "GIFTS" locked

    Not everyone plays with the same people in their country

    We don't have the luxury of sending money to eachother or jumping through hoops with Paypal and all the stupid money grabbers

    Is there a easier way to gift games to friends or are we never going to be able to play with our mates until we buy it ourselves

    Xbox One - can you buy a game for a friend?

    Microsoft, please implement a gifting system for games... Steam has it and it works FANTASTIC!!

    What should I do?

    I wouldn’t share my gold unless it was with someone in my house, like my kids. You should gift him gold. The link below says game gifting but it also works for Live and Gamepass.

    The only other way would be to buy a code or disc that will work in the US through a different online retailer.

    8337535769 this is the billing number order for my game purchased and I my refund reqeust I see only this number

    Based on the description you provided, it is possible that your friend's region is different from the Xbox gift code region.

    In order to redeem an Xbox gift card, the Xbox account region, payment method, and Xbox code regions must be matched.

    In this case, the only option is to try and request a refund for the gift card as long as it has not been redeemed yet and purchased within 14 days. You can request a refund by signing your account and follow the instructions through this link:

    Gift card doesn't work

    Keep trying for a few more days. If that foesnt work I would recommend contacting microsoft support or see if you could take the catd back to where you purchased it, to refund it or swap the card out for a new one.
