Game gift dont work from uk to usa

It says there:





To access digital gifting:

1. Sign in on an Xbox One console.

2. Launch the Store and navigate to the Store page for a product.

3. You’ll see a new [Buy as gift] option on the Store page if the product is eligible for digital gifting.

When purchasing a gift, the gift will be delivered to the recipient via email message containing a digital code for the item. The email will be sent immediately upon purchase. The email message will provide the gift
recipient with instructions on how to redeem the digital code.





Digital codes can only be redeemed in the country/region where they were purchased.

Hi there,

Regrettably, you won't be able to gift someone a game, if they are in another country. At present, you can only gift folks from the same region - eg: UK to UK, USA to USA. My best advice, would be to send your friend some funds to cover the cost of the game,
via a service like Paypal, for instance. That's what a friend and I did, with a Destiny 2 expansion pack.

Hopefully Microsoft can work to make some changes in the future, but as there are specific licensing laws in many different countries, along with fluctuating exchange rates, it's not looking likely..

Hello, did it state that game was region locked? Like it can only be brought from USA to USA or UK to UK...not USA to UK it will be region locked. Does friend live in same region??

No im in uk, my friend is in USA. Whats the point in Gifting Games to people, if you cant use it because of the Region you live in. Absolute joke on Microsofts part, they losing money now as i will make people aware not to Gift. You would expect that all games are compatable wherever you are, especially if its bought from Microsoft store. There all the same xboxes and games, just shows how Greedy each Region is to Purchase a game if it wont work elsewhere.

Yes, because the USA is the source of all of UK's problems. Lol. Just playing though.
