Game froze and now it's deleted.

I was playing Bloodstained: Ritual of the night when it froze. After getting the game to shut down I tried to go back into it only to see an update prompt but also it was saying install instead of play. Now I can't access the game or find the game folder
anywhere on my PC. Anyone know why this happened and what would cause a game to crash so hard it deletes itself? I have restarted the Xbox Game Pass launcher on my pc and even restarted my pc but nothing has happened.

I reinstalled the game and my save file is gone. I have been playing for about 10 - 15 hours I need that save back! is there anyway to recover the file?!

try left click on the Windows flag and select run command prompt (admin), in the window type "wsreset". It will take a bit.

Then reload go to the store and install the game.

You can also go to Settings, Apps, find the game and select repair (it will probably be under Advanced options).

Also take the time while in Windows Store to check for updates and download them all as it will help with future problems.

Let us know if you still have problems. Sometimes updates get corrupted, especially in real-time and the app basically quits running, even does not recognize it was installed.

Now I even tried deleting and re-downloading my profile, but the game still froze the moment I booted it up.

Deleted my save game (just from console, not completely from cloud) - and ran the game. Seems to have fixed it for me. Tested for about 30 minutes.

Edit: Went back in and it froze again. Deleted save game and tried again; it froze again. Dang it!

That could be a corrupt download. Mine froze three times in exactly the same place. I deleted it and redownloaded it. Problem solved.
