    Hi,

    I think I'll need to send my Xbox for repairs. I think I tried everything, but wanted to check with forum to make sure.

    Sooo, I bought my Xbox One X in October to play RDR2. From the beginning I had some problems with game freezing that ended quiting to dash or doing a hard reset if my X was not responding. In some cases the freeze was brief and I could play again. At the
    time I wasn't sure it it was game or hardware related issue. I also had few saves error, those where you need to delete them and sync again. Problems went wild when I started playing Elite: Dangerous in January. I had sessions that ended with 5-6 game/console
    resetes during an hour and if I was able to quit to dash I couldn't run anything, even settings, as I got "For some reasons App/Game took too long to start" (waiting for like 10 mins or doing hard reset helped). I also tried Battlefront 2 for like 2-3 hours
    and game froze once for like 10 mins. I also use Netflix app which occasionally freeze. I also noticed that during those freezes the console is actually a bit noisy and I can hear a clicking sound.

    What I tried and checked during this time:

    • reinstalling games
    • clearing save games
    • clearing cache
    • hard reset
    • factory reset
    • my NAT is always open and I have no packet losses and ping drops when checking in settings or on PC, also checked with my ISP and everything is ok
    • tried playing Elite simultaneously on X1X and PS4 during those freezes and had no problems on PS4 and multiple resets on X1
    As I suspected hard drive failure I tried an external drive, but unfortunately the freezing didn't stop and I got an 0x80831002 save syncing error. So I guess it might be more that just hdd. So... should I send it to service or is there anything else I should
    check?

    Any comments and clarifications are welcome. Thanks in advance!

    EDIT: One thing I forgot to add. Those issues are not constant. Sometimes I can play normally for couple of days. Guess that's why I am also confused about sending it.

    Try to do an offline update as a last resort and then yeah I would send it in

    If you have done all of the above, then I would talk to https://support.xbox.com/en-US/ and get a replacements. It should still be under warranty.

    Hi,

    thanks for the advice. I did an offline update and my XBOX run smoothly for two weeks. Unfortunately the problems reappeared during this weekend so I'll be sending it for repairs.
