Game Freezing/Not loading

Call of Duty Ghosts - Played the game since it came out, and then did an update today and now the game freezes with the guy starring at me. Plenty of disc space, no scratches on the disc, no error codes, and other games load just fine. Help.

Game Freezing/Not Loading

Actually it is a lot easier than that. It sounds to me like the agent you spoke with was unsure of what the issue may be and did the "Shotgun Method" with you to see if it clears it up. Basically she made you do all basic trouble shooting at once and hoped
something stuck.

The issue here is you just needed to do a hard reset, which is part of the maintenance that's ran when you reset the system by holding the power sensor on the front of the console down for 10 secs and then you wait 10 secs and turn it back on, and that should
correct the error causing the issue as well as purge your cache. It's real easy to do and I find doing it just once a week, and that's with a lot of online gaming, is more than enough.

Game Freezing/Not Loading

I thought that the fix was a little over the top, but given the consoles don't come with a manual anymore I wasn't aware of the Hard Reset so thank you for your response bigbenx88. The main issue I had was that this console was less than a week old and it
froze on me. Surely with all of their research, money (from our purchases and Xbox Live payments) and updates they would have created a system that automatically cleans the system on shutdown to allow us to do what we bought the console for. I bought the console
believing that it would be free from bugs that require user maintenance that I was unaware of and should not have to do. I posted this in the hope that the Update Team/Support could take this into consideration for future updates... Hopefully

None of my games will load. I have a gameing system that dont work . It is agravating $400 for a p.o.s. xbox i have had this thing for 2 months and it already broke. Weak i expected more.

Does the game load other saves, or does it freeze on loading all saves?

I did a few testing of my own with different games. Here are the results. Is it possible these games are freezing because they are related in some way? (ie: use the same engine, graphical tools, or disk format)

1. Games that Freeze:

a. FIFA 10 - Freezes at start

b. Call of Duty: Black Ops - Freezes few minutes after gameplay

c. UFC Undisputed 2010 - Freezes at start

d. EA Sports MMA - Freezes at start

e. Halo Reach - Freezes after game loading, gives “Disk is unreadable” message and allows me to return to dashboard

f. Mortal Kombat - Freezes right after match loading with sound glitches

g. Read Dead Redemption - Freezes after game loading

h. Call of Duty 2 - Freezes after game loading

i. Fallout: New Vegas - Froze after about 10 minutes, but I hear freezing is common with this game

j. Grand Theft Auto IV - Froze after just a minute in the game

k. Crackdown - Freezes during game loading

l. Crackdown 2 - Freezes at startup

2. Games that don’t freeze:

a. The Orange Box

b. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

c. NBA 2K11 - Works, but has major graphical glitches

d. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood - Works, but has graphical glitches

e. ESPN NFL 2K5

f. NHL 11

g. Gears of War

h. Borderlands

The game loads up then it just freezes on the load in screen then doesn't do anything other than that
