Game Freezing at Main Menu

At 35% completion in the Geothermal Valley, my game crashed and when I re-entered the game it would last about 10 seconds before making a buzzing sound and crashing. After going offline I could play again but there where no NPC's. So then I used my backup
save and the game functioned normally with all NPC's. However the moment I quit the game and went back online the same bug happened again. I there anyway to fix this or will I be forever stuck playing the game offline with no achievements or online features?

i start the game and i press start it either freezes at the black screen or it gets extremly laggy at the main menu and then freezes

 

Zombies Main Menu Freeze

I have been having the same issues. It just keeps freezing at the zombie main menu.

 

I have the same issue. I didn't play this game once I got it for christmas last year. I just started getting into it. I'm about 48% in and just got past the Geothermal Valley. I'm in Acropolis.

When I start the game, it can run fine on the screen where you press start but once I hit the main menu it freezes after like 5 seconds. I don't even have time to try the back up save everyone else did.

It freezes, the music repeats the last note played and it sounds like buzzing then it crashes. One time it made my xbox restart too. You ever find a solution?

 

This just happened to me today and I was able to play by going into settings and going offline in network settings. If the main menu doesn't crash I would load your backup save just in case. For now this is my only solution I could find.

 

Just happened to me today as well. Just bought the game a few days okay, worked fine until today.

 

Really hope Square Enix sees this and addresses it because it is game breaking quite literally.

Exactly the same for me freezes at main menu after about 5 secs. The audio makes a stuttering for about 10 secs and the game locks up before booting back to the dashboard. Can't even access the load menu to get to a back up save. Currently reinstalling
but not confident it will fix this.

 

Again I would recommend going offline and trying it then loading your backup save. Then it will be playable just not with online features for the time being.

 

I'm at 75% re-install right now. As soon as it's loaded back up, I'll try the "go off-line" solution.

 

Just did a reinstall but it didn't work, definitely seems to be an interaction with Xbox live causing the issue. I went offline loaded it up and seemed OK. I went to the dash and went online, with the game still open, thought I had managed a workaround
as I got to my save and managed to get the game to load however as soon as I tried to access the camp fire the game stuttered and crashed again. Hopefully the developer and Xbox live can fix this as it worked fine until yesterday.

 

That's really weird how Xbox Live could create such a big crash. For the time being at least we can still play offline.

 

I just bought this game yesterday, and i'm having the same problem. It freezes on the very first loading screen so I haven't been able to play yet. Also I cant run it offline because my home xbox isn't on the one I am playing on. This is actually really
annoying considering I just bought it and cant play..

 

Quick Update: I just came back from a trip and tried playing online and it worked. Hopefully the bug is fixed and it doesn't crash again.
